A lovely hotel in the heart of Bern, with easy access to the main areas of the town and the train station. Hotel room was large, comfortable and well maintained. We also appreciated the coffee machine in our room.

Perfect location right opposite the train station and bus and tram stops. Our room had a nice shower, TV, portable aircon unit, tea and coffee and plenty of space for luggage and coats. I couldn't hear the extractor fan in the bathroom, but it cleared the steam very quickly. The thick curtains kept the room dark at night and it was really quiet with the window closed. We had a fifth floor room with a balcony and a table and chairs for a great skyline view. The bed was very comfortable, but the typical continental pillows were pretty hopeless - the filling is such that my head sunk almost to the level of the mattress and the sides of the pillow wrapped around my head. The rooms have keys rather than keycards, so the electricity supply stays on when you exit, meaning you can leave things charging. However, there were only two sockets in the room and no USB, which meant a bit of swapping to boil the kettle, have the standard lamp or aircon on and charge phones. Beware that a typical UK travel adapter is the wrong shape for most Swiss sockets, that are wide and flat. The connection is correct, but the Swiss sockets don't have space for the round plastic housing on the adapters (see photo). You need the diamond shape like many phone adapters. The breakfast was OK, nothing special and I found the bread and rolls disappointing, especially given the wonderful bakeries a short walk away. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The lift is small but adequate.

A spotlessly clean room. A quiet location but close to restaurants and tram and bus routes, and within walking distance of the train station and town centre. A very good choice at breakfast and an early start (6.30 am) which is good for people like me with an early train to catch. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room only has a sink in, but the shared toilet and shower were close and not oversubscribed. Perfect for an overnight stay for a single person.

we appreciated that we could park our car in the garage, use free public transport to enjoy the city center and had a dinner at the garden restaurant of the hotel. the room was quiet and clean. The hotel inside is more functional than cosy. We had Wiener schnitzel and it was ok - it came quickly, reasonably priced and big portion. The breakfast was nothing special, but there was enough choice.

Loved Bern!!! Wish we had a few more days to truly visit all the wonderful things about the city. There was so much to see and do. If the opportunity exist, I will definitely come back and stay longer. We did a lot of walking in Bern so wear comfortable shoes as the streets are made of cobblestones. If you check out the rose garden, it is atop a steep climb so pace yourselves. But the view is well worth the climb and they have a nice cafe there too.

Bern is the ideal city to stay in for first time travellers...
Bern is the ideal city to stay in for first time travellers to Switzerland mainly because accommodation was cheaper than Zurich and it is more central to the places we want to see including Interlaken, Iseltwald and Gruyeres so that meant spending less time on trains than if we stayed in Zurich.
The town had such a lovely old town vibe and there was so much to see on foot and by bus. We loved walking across the bridge to see the Aare river and eating the famous Rosengarten as the sun set. We also loved how convenient it was to get the bus and the main train station from our hotel. Buying food from the local coop was also easy!
You could easily do a two day stay in Bern and see most things but since we came back to Bern each night after our day trips, we saw it across 4 days and felt that was enough. If we stayed one more night, we would have wanted to explore the Bear park and try to spot the bears!

Thai, Asian foods name it . It’s here.Peaceful city. I like the scenery by the river.Swimming by the river side.Locals having fun in the park. Nice weather at the time. Enjoyed the sunshine and breeze of fresh air .Clean toilets even if you have to pay for it. Very smart people. Even though English is not their 1st language. Most of the people speaks well English. So communications never been a barrier to us. Excellent train system.SBB. STP.It might be expensive as what others say but for me it’s worth it. As long as you understand how to use it.Always on time. If there’s a connecting problem. Replacement buses are well organised.Bern,Highly recommended to everyone.

Beautiful city. Lots to do.
Beautiful city. Lots to do. Amazing transportation system (get a multi-day pass for the duration of your stay). You can easily travel to other beautiful villages and towns using the train system.
Jungfrau is a must-do, but prepare to shell out $200+ per person (worth it).
Lauterbrunnen is another must-do. However, skip the first fall and go directly to the second (Trümmelbach). It’s amazing!
The hotel is located like 15-20 minutes from the city center. It's a nice walk but the hotel also gives you the public transport pass for your stay there is a tram line just behind the hotel that you can take to arrive at the center. The car park was also a very big advantage as in Switzerland it's very difficult to find a parking space. The breakfast was also good and also added value to our stay in the hotel.
Breakfast was really good, had even warm food, which is not usual in Switzerland. Location very convenient, close to the old town, easily accessible by public transport, but also close enough to walk. Family/triple room quite small, but ok, usual Ibis. Street-side room was quiet and although we could not leave the window open for night, we still had enough air, ie room had good ventilation.
We really enjoyed our staying at prizeotel on Bern. It is incredible well located. There is Bus station in front of the hotel. Bus are passing by every 5 min to the old town / train station. Rooms are large, very clean and silent. Staff are very kind and helpful. We recommend 100%. For sure we will be staying here on the next visit to Switzerland.
It was the most “perfect” accommodation for the whole of our trip in Switzerland. Everything from location, cleanness of the place, friendliness of the staff etc were top notch. special mention to Charles and Patrick whom were both service oriented.
