The location was ideal. The hotel is in a busy walking street that extends for well over a kilometre with lovely shops, restaurants and pubs. Loved the breakfast and the breakfast room which doubled as a packed lunch and dinner venue.

At the meeting point of Switzerland, Germany and France, Basel is an eclectic mix of historic and modern, tranquil and vibrant. With Swiss cleanliness and efficiency thrown in for good measure.
Augusta Raurica on its outskirts houses a well-preserved Roman theatre, while the Old Town is a museum of medieval buildings. The Renaissance Town Hall looks down on Marktplatz’s daily market, while the red sandstone and colourful tiles of the Münster were reconstructed in the 19th century. Bringing it right up to date are the modern creations of city residents Herzog & De Meuron, designers of London’s Tate Modern.
When you’ve finished exploring this architectural heritage, there are still plenty of things to do in Basel. The city’s fine art museum is the world’s oldest art collection, and the zoo is the oldest and largest in Switzerland. Remember to bring plenty of Swiss francs for the shopping mile along Clarastrasse and Freiestrasse.
The Basel accommodation on Booking.com ranges from hotels in Grossbasel to B&Bs in Kleinbasel, home to the nightlife. If you’re flying into Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport in February or March you might just catch Fasnacht: Switzerland’s biggest carnival. You’ll have to get up early to see it start though - 4am!
We loved the city walks, the food and nature around.
We loved the city walks, the food and nature around. Kudos to the team at Basel Cathedral. It was such a nice experience! You can get to the top of the Gothic cathedral and admire the view of Basel. There are a lot of stairs to do and need to squeeze a little :)
The hiking experience in Wasserfallen was amazing! Beautiful views from the cable car and did a two hours hiking in the nature. Amazing.
The city is also great, very clean and safe. It is very easy to connect to/from the city. Trains, buses and trams are always on time and running every minute. What we love about Basel is that it allows you to get to Germany or France in just a bus ride, but you need to remember to bring your passport with you!!!
In Basel, there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants, where to eat local food. There are also lots of museums and monuments around. It feels like art is everywhere!
Finally, we spoke English and Italian all the time but if you know German is even better! Recommend this city!

My favourite was the University Botanical Gardens, especially its rainforest greenhouse. Not to be missed! Altstadt is a nice place to walk around. View from the Pfalz is great and so are the Tinguely fountains - the latter an engineering brilliance. While talking a stroll along the Rheinweg don't forget to cross the bridge and enjoy a drink/dessert at the Xocolatl.

Visit was for Christmas markets which were most enjoyable.
Visit was for Christmas markets which were most enjoyable. Plenty of cafes and restaurants however we mainly used food and drink outlets at markets as why we were there. City also had Christmas courtyards which were decorated and made for a pleasant evening visiting these.
Quite a picturesque city on the river with cathedral worth visiting particularly climbing up tower for views and climb within tower itself. Plenty of museums if you're into that sort of thing too.
Good transport to/from airport and around city itself.

Everything. The room is very new, very clean , with all facilities you need. It tells about how the team care for the wellbeing of guests. The staff is very helpful, with quick response. So even though I never get to meet them in person, I feel they are available and will help solve any problem. This feeling of security is very important when you travel to a foreign country. The contact less check-in worked very well.
This is the best accommodation in my one month travel in Switzerland.
This hotel was fine for a night or two stay. It was clean and had a fridge. We borrowed a kettle from reception. It’s on a tram line so was easy access from the station but too far to walk with luggage. The area was fine and there were supermarkets a few blocks away. Value for money in expensive Switzerland!!
It has 2 very comfy double beds, v good kitchen, and a perfect living room, with a dining table. Insanely good value for money… especially for Switzerland!
