While in Whitehorse we visited the Whitehorse Museum, the Beringia Museum, Miles Canyon and spent a few hours at the hot springs north of town. The museums are fabulous--so much interesting history in the Yukon, The canyon is a short drive from town and is very interesting--there is a suspension bridge over the river and the river runs very fast through the canyon. The hot springs are fabulous but a bit pricey. There are several different pools with varying temperatures, sauna, steam room, and relaxation room. It was welcome after a travel day.
We also drove down to Skagway Alaska to see this old gold rush town. There were several cruise ships in port and the town was very busy. The drive from Whitehorse and back was spectacular even in the rain.

Nice city, a good amount of hotels to choose from, but stay away from the Raven inn, Canada’s best value inn River view, family inn hotel,
Choose hotel by what your budget will allow, rent a car up there stay a few days at most, then head out on the highway and see the areas up and around Whitehorse. In a weeks time (rental period) we saw Braeburn, Dawson city, Carmacks, Haines junction, Haines Alaska, drove a little bit on the Dempster highway, about ten minutes worth..lol..don’t want to have any problems to the rental, took the Alaska ferry from Haines up to Skagway, then up into the mountains from Skagway, carcross, and then back to Whitehorse.

Very clean town, but all the limited accommodation very, very expensive. Not enough restaurants and very expensive. We used the Subway restaurants quite often, although expensive. Not friendly locals.

Whitehorse was great, but the Town and Country Motel was not. No elevator, no air conditioning which was on the description that they had AC. The motel was old and dirty looking and dingy. The clientele coming there to buy booze over the lobby counter was less than reputable. I give it 1/2 a star, just for having a door on the room.

The downtown location was great for me. It was very quiet at night, no traffic there. The bed was very comfortable, the space very clean and well furnished. It is clearly someone's home, but it was cleared of most personal items, which is important to me in a rental. There were some thoughtful touches such as a variety of chargers and batteries available for use.
I arrived early and was able to stow my bag for a few hours while I took a walk around Whitehorse. The property is convenient to downtown. They upgraded me to a room in a new townhouse building that was very nice and extremely quiet. Plus the bedding was terrific!
A great hotel in a great location! In-floor heating, rooms were clean and well-kept, no smells whatsoever, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Easily walkable to all major areas in Whitehorse.
The location provided walking access to many Whitehorse attractions. The property was clean and well maintained, and the host upgraded us to this property.
