FAQs about hotels in Victoria

Ye Olde England in British Columbia's Capital

Picture Ye Olde English pubs, turn-of-the-century British buildings and immaculately planned parks. Now place it in a pristine coastal environment on Vancouver Island in Canada and you have the capital city of British Columbia, a region of extraordinary and unabashed beauty.

Grab your camera and head for a walk in the Garden City to the beautiful Butchart Gardens with its colourful flowers and foliage that change through the seasons. Revitalise your lungs with some pure Canadian air by going cycling along the largest network of bicycle tracks for any city in Canada.

The Inner Harbour provides many activities both on land or out to sea. Buskers and artists make this a lively epicentre of entertainment with many restaurants or take a harbour cruise to admire the coast from afar.

Whale watching is a must-do excursion from Victoria Harbour with the Orca whale a popular attraction. Craigdarroch Castle and the Royal British Columbia Museum are favourite day trips in the capital.

BC Ferries from Vancouver gets you to the southern tip of Vancouver Island. You can then drive a short distance to the city centre where most of the hotels are found on Booking.com. Victoria International Airport services flights from Canada and the USA.

Great place for a short visit and you do not need an auto to enjoy. Good sights in short distances. Highlights were water tax ballet (weekends) and Butchart Gardens. Bike rental was reasonable, but not all of Victoria has biking lanes. However, the traffic moves slowly and safely.

We didn't have enough time in Victoria. After a long journey through the back country from Duncan we were too tired to explore. Due to Canada day we opted to go to Butchard garden and spent only about 2h downtown Victoria. A very nice dinner at Japanese ramen restaurant.

    Certainly!

Certainly! Here's a review for your stay in Victoria downtown, BC, mentioning a castle that starts with "C": Title: A Delightful Weekend in Victoria Downtown I spent a fantastic weekend in downtown Victoria, BC. The city's blend of historic charm and modern amenities made for an unforgettable experience. One of the highlights was visiting the stunning Craigdarroch Castle. This beautifully preserved historic site offers a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the 19th-century elite, with its exquisite architecture and lavish interiors. The Inner Harbour, with its stunning sunset views and lively street performers, was another highlight. The Royal BC Museum offered fascinating insights into the region's history, especially the First Peoples Gallery. Dining was a treat, with fresh seafood and local craft beer being standout options. My hotel was comfortable and conveniently located near major attractions, with friendly staff ensuring a pleasant stay. Overall, Victoria's welcoming vibe, rich history, and vibrant culture make it a must-visit destination. I can't wait to return!
