Great place for a short visit and you do not need an auto to enjoy. Good sights in short distances. Highlights were water tax ballet (weekends) and Butchart Gardens. Bike rental was reasonable, but not all of Victoria has biking lanes. However, the traffic moves slowly and safely.

We didn't have enough time in Victoria.
We didn't have enough time in Victoria. After a long journey through the back country from Duncan we were too tired to explore. Due to Canada day we opted to go to Butchard garden and spent only about 2h downtown Victoria. A very nice dinner at Japanese ramen restaurant.

Certainly!
Certainly! Here's a review for your stay in Victoria downtown, BC, mentioning a castle that starts with "C":
Title: A Delightful Weekend in Victoria Downtown
I spent a fantastic weekend in downtown Victoria, BC. The city's blend of historic charm and modern amenities made for an unforgettable experience.
One of the highlights was visiting the stunning Craigdarroch Castle. This beautifully preserved historic site offers a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the 19th-century elite, with its exquisite architecture and lavish interiors.
The Inner Harbour, with its stunning sunset views and lively street performers, was another highlight. The Royal BC Museum offered fascinating insights into the region's history, especially the First Peoples Gallery.
Dining was a treat, with fresh seafood and local craft beer being standout options. My hotel was comfortable and conveniently located near major attractions, with friendly staff ensuring a pleasant stay.
Overall, Victoria's welcoming vibe, rich history, and vibrant culture make it a must-visit destination. I can't wait to return!

streets are not on a grid, and somewhat confusing, and parking is not easy to find.
Food and cafes are great, and many great places to visit. Weather is usually mild in winter and no too hot in summer.
The location was perfect for wandering around downtown Victoria. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful. We were able to check in early so that we could go walking. There was coffee available in the lobby early in the morning and during the day. Good parking available. We had to book last minute and it worked out beautifully.
The views and location are the best. Love the Victorian style, decor, and rooms. The breakfast is a nice addition to the stay. We have been here 7 times and always love it. Actually a very quiet stay for so close to downtown. Close to everything and very clean.
It was 15 minutes from downtown Victoria and the price is one of the cheapest we could find. The place is clean and the person at the reception was able to change us from a 2 single bed to a queen size bed (as we requested but nobody answered).
Host tried her very best to accommodate. Great location for Fisherman's Wharf and downtown Victoria. Large room. Free parking. Probably good value for the area.
