FAQs about hotels in Vancouver

Outstanding Capital of the Outdoors

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.

Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.

Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.

With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

The city was gorgeous and inviting!

The city was gorgeous and inviting! We walked most places, but used the public transit a bit too - both bus and subway. We also enjoyed a trolley tour and saw some scenic skylines, bridges and parks. Weather was raining most mornings in early December, but usually stopped before lunch time. We were comfortable with sneakers, jacket and hats, and wanted to be able to de-layer once inside the many indoor shopping centers, food courts, hang out locations. We ate at several local small restaurants and even food courts - and everything was delicious! Lots of high end stores all over, and also really nice shopping malls - most are underground, so it's deceiving from the outside how big they are. Would go back to do some of the sightseeing further from downtown area.

First time visiting Vancouver with My mom and sister! We fell In love with the place! The staff are incredibly nice and so kind! We felt so welcomed by everyone there at Hyatt! It was such a great location because everything were in walking distance distance. We walked over to the Harbour which was a short distance over. I’m already thinking about my next trip there!!

Vancouver is a beautiful city with mountains, ocean, parks,...

Vancouver is a beautiful city with mountains, ocean, parks, shopping, museums, theatre, music, sports events, cafes, pubs, fast food and elegant dining - whatever you might want - it's there somewhere! Transit includes buses, sky train, commuter rail and sea bus. Many areas are quite walkable but you can also rent bicycles or call on taxis and ride shares. We visited most recently to take in the Grey Cup 2024 festivities which, being in November, were during the rainy season. There were several nice days but accommodations were made when the rain came - even the place we stayed in provided a complimentary umbrella! Highly recommend visiting this fabulous place!

Hotel is good. Comfortable. Clean. Its on a shopping street thats ok with some cheaper restaurants but very easy to walk to other options. Hotels in canada seem really expensive across the board. So it definitely seemed expensive for what you get compared to other countries but pretty standard value for vancouver.
