Central city area has its challenges (empty storefronts, graffiti, etc.) but many nice restaurants. We enjoyed a nice Indian (Asian) meal. Visited small shops and galleries. Riverfront walk near downtown dam/spillway is very impressive. Many historic buildings, plus some new construction and renovation. Uptown railway station (farmers market) and lake walk is very nice. We spent one night and day, and that was probably enough for us.

Sherbrooke has all the amenities and shopping you need. The people are polite and helpful. The atmosphere is friendly and peaceful. Restaurants want you to have a great experience with their cuisine. There is some road construction but it has little impact on the traffic.

We just did not have enough time: there is a lot to explore in the Townships and although we stayed in "Sherbrooke" we never made it into "town" but explored outlying areas and even then we did not have the time to explore Orford National Park where we thought we would hike and/or snowshoe. We spent a whole day im Magog doing the walk around the lake, some coffee, some shopping and a great dinner with friends at Alessa's! We also did a loop from Magog and explores Ste Catherines de Hatley, North Hatley and Ayer's Cliff and a side trip to the Abbey. We hope to get back and would definitely stay again at Gite L'Antre d'Eux

This hotel is very sterile - it seemed to be more targeted for business travelers and had a sterile and corporate decor and feel. The room was a bit small.
The spa services were good but the spa is spread across four floors so it is quite inconvenient going up and down from the locker room to the sauna to the treatment floor and spa reception is on yet another floor.
On the pro side, parking was convenient and everything was new enough / in good condition.
All in all I was happy when I left. Oh, and because of the gap between check out and check in at my next hotel, I asked if I could stay an hour or two later and they asked for $50!!!! Tacky.

This was a great place to stay. The hosts were so helpful e.g we arrived on a Monday when a lot of restaurants are shut and she went out of her way to help us find something we would like, we were going to rent some bikes but they lent us two that they had. Breakfast was amazing - all fresh and home cooked and presented exquisitely ( read a review that said it was not enough - must have been a very big eater! We could not eat everything). The room was spotless. I can not speak highly enough of the service we received.
Staff were friendly and smiling. Check-in was efficient because everything was prepared beforehand including the room keys . So the check-in process only took a minute. Also this was one of the only two hotels during our 11 day trip, which knew that we were the same group and put our three rooms next to each other.
