Loved the remote location, very quiet and would’ve been great for stargazing had the weather been better. Breakfast was delicious and so fun to have to delivered right to our door.

Great location right on waterfront. 5 minute walk to restaurants. The property is dated for sure, but it’s clean, beds are comfy, everything worked as it should and it’s reasonably priced. The hospitality is top notch. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It would have been nice to have some mugs and a kettle.

Everyone we encountered was very polite and happy. We loved the architecture of the building. Breakfast was excellent. If we are ever back in Victoria, we will stay here again.

Awesome views. Peaceful feel to the property. The restaurant was newly re-opened and pretty good. Location was easy to find right off the freeway.
The hosts outdid what was expected. They even helped us carry in luggage. The food provided was beyond my expectations. The property is divine, with alpacas and sheep in the pasture right outside our window. The only problem was that the hill to cycle up to their home was 2km. long and too much for us on regular bikes.
We highly recommend a stay here.

I liked the friendly welcoming of Gabrielle.
I liked the friendly welcoming of Gabrielle. Her home is so lovely inside and out. We had everything we needed and Gabby’s number if we needed something else to call her right away! Her cottage is ten minutes from the food market, Coffee Bistro, Marina and restaurant.
We loved our stay here. Everything was beyond great. Large, cute and comfortable apartment, very generous breakfast, lovely setting and view and such a nice bonus with all the animals (especially the Alpacas that are very exotic to us). Nancy and Brad was the best hosts you can imagine, very friendly and helpful and they gave us great advice on what to do when staying there. (The trekking around Burnt bridge and Kinsol Trestle was just amazing!) This little B&B is one of our best hotel experiences ever, and we've traveled plenty.
Our experience exceeded all possible expectations. We love visiting Vancouver Island but this time was so special particularly because we stayed at Shawnigan Hills!
The suite is huge, well stocked and well-equipped with practically everything a guest might want. However, we got so much more than just a perfectly designed and maintained b&b. No hotel could be compared to the hospitality and care we received here.
Our advice: plan to stay for more than 1 night, it is worth it!
The hospitality was exceptional! They were great with the kids and laid on food we weren't expecting. The animals at the property were a big hit with the kids and we all couldn't have felt more welcome. Very close to the lake and even though there are not a lot of food options nearby, we were all very impressed with everything we tried. Well worth the stay and excellent value for money. Would definitely stay there again!
It was easy to find and the instructions were clear for how to get in and such. It was very nearby where we needed to go to attend the graduation, which was perfect for us. The welcome basket was very nice and the breakfast items were greatly appreciated.
Location and place near the road, easy to find. Better than hotels and apartments. Pubs and restaurants near the property. Very clean lake with pure spring water.
