Great location - the included continental breakfast was a good way to start the day. Having the ocean view was lovely and the little balcony was perfect any time of the day.

The Latch Inn was like staying on a very smaller scale at the Dutton Ranch.amazing The Latch Inn is made from logs as is an amazing building. It sits next to the marina with views incredible. The breakfast was delicious with runny benny eggs.

The Beacon Inn feels like a home away from home.
There's an old-fashioned vibe and plenty of comfy touches.

The loft was clean, spacious, well appointed, quiet and in a lovely setting.

This was a lovely place in a great location - far enough from noise, crowds and the bustle of a city hotel, but close enough - a very short drive in fact - to reach these places. We visited the Butchart Gardens (a 10 min drive) and went whale watching in Victoria - slightly longer of a driver but certainly easy to do as part of your day. I don't have any negative comments about the location or the accommodation.

The room I was given had a step down as soon as you entered the room before you could turn on a light. There was a sign on the outside of the door - saying watch your step - never did I think it was a step just inside the room at the doorway - yes I did fall a few times - not hurt but could have been - really a dumb/stupid entrance to a room!!!
Secondly, nobody at the motel told me at check in or ever that the room was ONLY serviced once every 3 days!!
I went to the desk to complain when I had no coffee for 2 days - that's when I found out - unbelievable!!!

The host and hostess, Mark and Carolyn were so interesting and we enjoyed chatting and visiting with them. Each morning we had a "gourmet" breakfast. The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. The whole experience was wonderful and relaxing.

Saanichton and the whole Saanich Peninnsula are great places to travel. There are many walking trails up small 'mountains', lovely forested park areas, lakes and the ocean. There are eagles and great blue herons to watch and photograph, often deer and their fawns in the spring (drive slowly--below not above the speed limits. There are several botanical gardens, some that cost money to enter but several that don't. Great restaurants to suit every taste & mood--Thai, European, Indian-- seaside elegant & forest cozy, good bookstores and art stores as well as local markets with lots of local crafts. Cars, bikes, & buses get you around over fairly large areas.

A nice little area within Victoria city limits, which allowed for exploration of the area's both within the city and nearby without having too drive to far in either direction. I highly recommend not staying at the Super 8 though.
