I stay in Richmond because I am used to it, can navigate pretty easily. It is near the airport, sky train access is good, shopping is nearby except for groceries, I am always without a car there so it is a bit of a slog to get food at times. There are plenty of restaurants but I don't want to eat in them all the time.

Other than shows and gambling there is not much else to do in the immediate (walking distance) area. But there is a “Sky Train” station adjacent to the hotel which will take you to downtown Vancouver with its many attractions and options. For those with a vehicle there are many wonderful areas to explore that are a little further afield.

The heat pump on our room intermittently cycled nonstop blowing a loud sounding fan in our face. We had a 10 hr flight and we’re unable to sleep. We reported this to the front desk as we were unable to turn it off or adjust the fan. The front desk staff apologized and we told them they would need to do something about this as it will be impossible for someone to sleep.

We travelled around easily using buses that were nearby. After a long haul flight from Australia we were rested before getting on our cruise.
The nearby wharf was worth a visit. Granville Island is a must to see. Check out the restaurant in the cooking school there.

We stayed twice - the first time for two nights and the second time just for one night. The hotel is just over 1km from the metro so getting to downtown is easy. By the metro station (which is also the line that takes you to the airport) there is a large outlet mall.
Lots of other things close by but need to taxi or Uber.

The location is very good, near the best-operated streets in Richmond, and close to the SkyTrain and Central Transit Station. The host is very nice, friendly in communication, and check-in is easy. The room is suitable for short-term stays. It is clean and tidy and equipped with many daily necessities, including dietary condiments, coffee, etc. It is also equipped with convenient appliances such as a washing machine and a rice cooker. The scenery is nice. I personally think it is more convenient than a hotel and it is closer to shopping malls.
Super comfy beds and pillows. Breakfast choice was great, and able to have as much as you like. Airport transfer is a bonus - just call the hotel from the courtesy phone at the airport to let them know you need picking up. Really quiet despite being near airport and by a main highway.
The staff were extremely friendly and the airport shuttle was a fantastic bonus. The hotel is located in an area of Richmond which is filled with many restaurants within walking distance.
