The breakfast was great. The pool area is phenomenal.
Red Deer is a great small city. My family and I enjoyed the nature while we visited. We also liked the traffic is not as bad as the bigger cities. I really appreciated that. There are enough things to do in this city to keep a tourist busy. It's a great little getaway!

I was on a visit to see my brother who lives at the Michener Centre. It might be because of this place for people with developmental disabilities that people with disabilities have more accommodations. For example, it's rare to find a place that isn't accessible for people in a wheelchair. I think the Collicutt Centre with it's hot pool for people in a wheelchair and another hotpool withing the Collicutt Centrefor more able bodied people is a real bonus. They have wheelchairs on site that can be taken into the pool and the Collicutt Centre is open at reasonable hours for people in a wheelchair. Also, an assistant for someone in a wheelchair gets in free there.

We stayed to visit my brother in Michener Centre.
We stayed to visit my brother in Michener Centre. We took him to the Collicutt Centre which is fully accessible for people in wheelchairs in the pools. The Collicutt Centre provides wheelchairs to be taken into the water. There is a hot pool for people in wheelchairs and a hot pool for more able bodied people. It is also fully accessible for people in wheelchairs at Gaetz Memorial United Church. On the whole Red Deer is progressive for people with disabilities.

We were in town for me to compete in the Spartan race. We did not know it was Westerner days which was a great bonus. We got to eat some fair food and went to a great local restaurant. Red Deer is great.

Red Deer is an unknown gem of a mini-vacation.
Red Deer is an unknown gem of a mini-vacation. There's lots of things to keep you busy, from quiet pursuits (Fort Normandeau, the migratory bird sanctuary, parks, etc) to much more active pursuits like the BMX trials, the air show and concerts that we heard about when we were there. It's got loads of shopping in less crowded spaces as well as many specialty shops if that's your thing. Great restaurants and access to many prairie gems as well. We love Red Deer as a weekend haunt.

Very nice small city. Very easy to drive around.
Very nice small city. Very easy to drive around. Lots of green areas with walking and cycling paths. All the same amenities, restaurants and retail outlets as a larger city but without the headaches of the congested traffic.

The hotel was conveniently located for our purposes, being just off the highway and not far from our friends. We were warmly welcomed by the front desk, and it was lovely to be recognised next morning and asked why our arrival had been rather late the previous evening. Breakfast was good - we enjoyed the Costco muffins!
I liked that it was pet friendly, my pug puppy Franklin could sit and have bfast with me. Other pet friendly hotels dont allow this, and you aren't allowed to leave your pet in the room alone, so this was very helpful.
It has a good location , is in between everything. The price for a night is reasonable and affordable for emergency if you don't live around red deer . The staff is very welcoming , attentive and nice.
