The area is beautiful, especially when looking west at the ocean. People were very friendly everywhere we went. There are some great restaurants. However, electric vehicle charging could have been better.

I grew up here, so it’s always nice to return. It’s a very different town now that the paper mill has closed. Not as vibrant, but the historic townsite is still very interesting to see. The Patricia Theatre is the oldest working cinema in BC.
There are good trails and places for water sports.

I enjoyed the many trail options and the gorgeous sunsets, especially viewed from Willington beach. Really enjoyed walking the well maintained seawall. Also, enjoyed the friendly pickleball club, they were very welcoming. The choice of diverse restaurants was appreciated. The people are relaxed and friendly. Our favourite restaurant was the Cookery in Powell river. Getting around via bike ,bus or shuttle option was easy.

I love Powell River!
I love Powell River! Am fortunate to have a friend living there who showed us things I wouldn't have found on my own. I'm interested in the arts so we visited several art galleries. Very inspiring!
We started in Lund ( great bakery!) and worked out way south.

Powell River is an amazing place if you are a lover of the outdoors. While the town itself has all the amenities you want from garages to large grocery stores, a few restaurants and some beaches, the best of this part of BC's lower mainland only accessible by ferry or private plane is the scenic coastline, the shorefront, the parks, and the wildlife.

Powell River is great if you like to get away from the fast pace city life. There is very little traffic! There are lots of different beaches to explore. There are also hiking trails in the woods. On our drive to Lund we saw 2 different bears by the side of the road. Then when we went to Gibsons Beach on another day we saw 2 bears again. We also saw soaring bald eagles. There are nice restaurants in town. But we preferred to cook our own food.
Willingdon Beach has a great playground for kids.

we loved the low key vibe, the big grassy lawn in front of the motel, and the beautiful view of the sea. The back was bordered by some woods which also helped to create a very relaxing atmosphere. The proximity to Powell River and Powell Lake was great (for swimming, nearby), and we also found the local market just down the road a great place to pick up last minute food items; it was open until 10:00 pm. We also loved the spacious, well stocked kitchen in the motel, and we found the bed very comfortable.
Pub allowed kids in it until 8 pm. Continental breakfast was fine for the kids and I to grab a quick breakfast. You could use your voucher for $5 to a menu item if you didn't like the continental breakfast options.
