The place was beautiful and so well stocked with everything we could need. Having the ability to cook everything when traveling with a child was wonderful. The Tupperware was a nice touch for our day trips. The bedrooms were a great size with very comfy beds and lots of storage for clothes. My son loved having his own room.

All of my maternal Great Grandparents were born in Merrickville. The farm my 2nd Great Grandfather bought is still in the family, so have many cousins in Merrickville.
I love visiting and I could truly live here! Beautiful little town.

Merrickville is warm and friendly and has lots of nice stores and good restaurants. The Yellow Canoe has wonderful food. We also ate at the Baldachin…..good food friendly service. Main Street restaurant for breakfast. Loved the Bean for coffee, muffins and breakfast. They have good sandwiches too.

There are all kinds of shops to explore, the lift lock is there. You can walk up and down both sides of the streets to all the shops. Very nice and historic little town. We ate at the Wicked Chips chip truck, the food was delicious!!!! We recommend eating there if you have a chance. Looking forward to another visit next year for sure. It is a hidden gem as we had no idea about this place. Go, eat, shop, explore!

If you love small towns with artisan shops this your place!
If you love small towns with artisan shops this your place! Beautiful town to wander through in all seasons. Yellow Canoe café, Main street, Goose and Gridiron and the Iron Forge are all great places to eat. Brewed Awakens has wonderful coffee and treats. Two different places to get either homemade ice-cream or gelato, I recommend trying them both.
Enjoy a stay over at 1840, you will not be disappointed!
Perfect place for picnic's along the Rideau Canal.

It's small enough to walk everywhere within a few minutes.
Close to Kemptville or Smith's Falls for larger box stores such as CTC or WalMart
