Great place to stay to see a unique treasure -Moraine Lake - without all the daytime crowds around. Nice cabins with wood fires and lovely views. The food was first class and although the accomodation is expensive, dinner was reasonably priced and a cooked breakfast is included.
Given the price level, we were expecting something special.
Given the price level, we were expecting something special. In fact it was our worst experience as we travelled across The Canadian Rockies.
Woken by rodents and the shuttle staff who were located near our room.
Was an anticlimax as we were really looking forward to staying here. Way outside of our normal budget and sadly way below average standards

It's a great place to visit if you have just one day and would like to do a lot. You can leave your car near the lake, and the walk to the lake won't take too long. Lake Louise is very beautiful during the summer (after June 21) and also lovely during the winter. My recommendation is to always check the photos of the lake before commenting so it will be a surprise for you if on May 26 it still has ice on top.

Lake Louise is a beautiful picturesque area of Banff that is easily accessible off the Trans Canada not far from Calgary airport.
The town has limited accommodations and during peak season can be difficult to secure a room, so book early.
During the winter months the proximity of the town to the ski resorts is great, and the Moraine Lake snowshoe hike is beautiful.
For a closer and more convenient experience, skating and walking on Lake Louise is an amazing experience, and with the Chateau ice bar at your disposal, a perfect way to enjoy nature without needing to venture off the beaten path.
The Lake Louise Inn has a wonderful full service restaurant that serves some off the chart, top notch pizza's with local brews if that's your way to enjoy it.
Breakfast is available at most of the hotels I've stayed in, inquire when booking, it may be included with your stay.
Summer, well, it's busy...! Be prepared too wait in lineups, and book your spot for the tour bus to the lake early.

We did not realise that their was a shuttle bus to the ski resort. This would have been great for us, as the walk from the car park to the ski area is a considerable distance if you do not get there early.

I love Lake Louise, it is beautiful!
I love Lake Louise, it is beautiful! The village has a lot to offer any level tourist/traveler. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from. The prices are quite high and really do need to be reduced in the tourist shops. It has world class skiing and unmatched natural beauty.

Amazing place to visit even in Winter (late Nov), all the christmas decorations were up, we still walked 1/2 way around the lake. Fairmont Chateu upgraded us to top floor lake view room, we watched the sun come up over Lake Louise....that was very special. Not much else to do in Lake Louise at winter if you don't ski. Lake Louise Village is nothing. Bow Valley Parkway is just beautiful. Do Johnston Canyon but definitely need cleats if there is snow on the ground as the paths become very slippery. Try get there at 10am or before as less people. By lunch time it is very busy.

The Fairmont Chateaux Lake Louise was a high point for us, with its fantastic location and grand nature, and accompanying price tag we expected a lot. Mostly it delivered, and the hotel upgraded our room as well but unfortunately it was under major renovations and the suite we were given was right in the midst of major works - the sound of drilling drove us out of this otherwise very beautiful suite.
Clean, comfortable large room - much better than we were expecting given that this place is apparretly only a two star hotel. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Finding the place and parking is very easy and the location is great for exploring Lake Louise and Moraine, as well as nearby Yoho national park and the Icefields Parkway.
We had a room on the third floor with lovely mountain views. Good location in Lake Louise village with public shuttle bus to the lake Louise. Bus stop across the road. Close to a few eateries and shops. Free parking at hotel.
If you plan on visiting Moraine Lake too you need to book ahead the shuttle bus.
