I liked how clean the rooms were and how helpful and kind the staff was. I really liked having a common eating area since we were travelling with a large group of family members. We were in the third floor and it was very quiet and clean. The breakfast was good too with nice drinks and hot food. The pool temperature was good too.

The waterfront is very nice with many restaurants.
The waterfront is very nice with many restaurants. The Public Gardens are beautiful and the Citadel is worth visiting especially at noon to witness the the firing of the canon ceremony. We took the ferry to Dartmouth to have a view of downtown from the sea.

Halifax really is a great place to stay.
Halifax really is a great place to stay. It has everything you could want - history, good choice of pubs/restaurants. Plenty of places and activities to book for children through to senior citizens.
We stayed for 4 days after touring Nova Scotia for two weeks - it really was perfect for us as I am 60 and the others were 24-31.
I would definitely go back.

Laid back, Downtown on the waterfront is charming, we found it a little hard to find non corporate restaurants to eat at for our grandchildren, more informed information would be amazing - Downtown Halifax seems to be for all ages - however with the new developments that are going on - perhaps more playground facilities would be great as the existing ones are VERY busy. Downtown Halifax is definitely great for couples of all ages

I loved Halifax! An amazing city to visit.
I loved Halifax! An amazing city to visit. I came on my own, but have now said to my husband and children, sister and friends that they must come with me next time!
Small enough to be easily explored on foot, large enough to have a wide range of activities, restaurants, shopping, culture, there is something for everyone.
I came in late July, full of tourists, but everyone I met couldn't have been friendlier.
Having always lived far from the ocean/sea, I appreciated the long boardwalk with so many wonderful restaurants, but also just watching the boats, the birds and the people.
I loved the Citadel, Halifax garden, AGNS, the shops, the restaurants.
A shout out for Salt & Ash restaurant & Elsie's thrift shop & Jennifer's of Nova Scotia for gifts.
My Canadian friends said it wasn't possible to visit Nova Scotia without a car, but I used Maritime Bus, with friendly staff.
I can hardly wait to come back and explore more of Nova Scotia with Halifax as a base.

Halifax is the biggest little City in Canada.
Halifax is the biggest little City in Canada. Beautiful harbour, shops and eateries down town. However, the City is overcrowded and the infrastructure is insufficient to handle the traffic. If one bridge is down, then traffic almost comes to a halt. Avoid morning, noon and supper time travel if you are visiting. Good luck finding parking down town.

Great fun for short stay.
Great fun for short stay. First trip and hopefully not last. People were all friendly as advertised. Diversity of city is striking and positive. Don’t sleep on Wooden Monkey and of course Bicycle Thief. Breakfast sandwich at TD Bank cafe a 1st and pretty darn good!!
