Great location, comfortable room, friendly owner, cute ducks at the property
We love Salt Spring! Ganges has lots of good spots to eat and we especially enjoyed Auntie Pesto’s. We noticed the traffic has increased since the last time we were there especially in the core where it is very hard to find parking.

The atmosphere is laid back with a bohemian vibe.
The atmosphere is laid back with a bohemian vibe. The scenery was beautiful, and the Farmers Market is a must-see. The local made products are a must try/buy as the ingredients are grown on the island. Harlan's Ice Cream and Barb's Bakery & Bistro are not to be missed. The homemade taste is amazing. Embe Bakery was great as well. Lower Ganges is easily walkable, though parking is limited.

The Saturday market is amazing although parking is tough.
The Saturday market is amazing although parking is tough. For a relatively small island it has a good variety of restaurant and grocery options and there are plenty of outdoor activity possibilities. There are good hikes, a mix of small town urban activity and quiet rural areas. I even found an inexpensive gym where I was able to do my usual fitness routine inexpensively.

Ganges is a sweet Gulf Island town. Lots to explore. A fabulous bookshop, art store ( sadly closed on Monday). Easy to walk about.
Saturday country market still thriving.
Wonderful people everywhere.
I ate dinner in the local pub walking distance from the cabin. Very good fare and friendly folk.

There are lots of quaint shops, cafes and restaurants.
There are lots of quaint shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a public library in case you need a place to hang out for awhile on a rainy day. The market takes place on Saturdays. There is a great games store (Foxes) if you want to pick something up to play with the family while in town. There are a couple of thrift stores in case you need to pick up any extra clothing items that you don't necessarily want to bring home.
Be aware of the hours for the restaurants. We were surprised to arrive on a Friday night (late April) to discover that a number of pizza places were closed.

Ganges is an interesting small town on a beautiful island.
Ganges is an interesting small town on a beautiful island. The people are open and welcoming and the prices are still manageable. With all the wonderful local produce and products we hoped the cuisine would be slightly better and there would be more choices. The Saturday market is a great addition to the excitement of the island.
Just spent 3 lovely days in the charming Thistle Dew Cottage which is nestled in the trees but has an abundance of sunlight due to all the windows. Pauline provides lots of personal touches such as fresh flowers in all the rooms, home made bread and pie and gave us great suggestions as to the local area. Easy walk to Salt Spring Wild Cider which we enjoyed so much we went back the next evening for dinner! Looking forward to a return visit
Great location 2 minutes by bicycle from centre of Ganges village, but surprisingly quiet; our room with harbour view and patio was wonderful , very comfortable and spacious with large patio nicely screened from next door rooms (I would not want to be in a room on the other side overlooking the parking lot). Staff were very helpful in providing a secure place to lock our bikes (and are working on creating a permanent bike storage facility).
The location of Salt Spring Inn was excellent for walking around the town as our vehicle was parked nearby. Walking around the interests was full of enjoyment with breathing fresh air. The staff at the inn were helpful and thoughtful as we requested a special plug for the laptop. The plug was available, so we used it overnight.
In main common area complimentary coff/tea/cookies provided which is standard at all guesthouses. 10 /15 mins drive from ferries. Easy to find. A quiet 10 min walk into Ganges, where you can find many eateries & lovely shops.
Beautiful, quaint cottage about a 10 minute walk from Ganges village. Very quiet with a beautiful surrounding. The fresh bread, eggs and organge juice was a lovely addition. We are already excited for our next trip back.
