Room was clean and larger than expected. Nice bathroom. Host was amazing; drove us to and from the train station, gave us a tour of Churchill, and gave us early check in and late check out at no extra fee, which is never expected but always a great surprise!

We stayed in mid-November 2024. Taylor picked us up from the train station (even took us back a second time when we realized we had left our luggage there!). I was with my two young adult nieces and we had a room with three beds. There was a table in there which was super useful for spreading out all of our stuff (aka: all of our winter gear!) We did laundry one day too (additional cost) which was convenient as we hadn't traveled with many clothes and had already spent 2 days on the train. Having breakfast included in the price was really appreciated. We bought dinner from Taylor one night (his Asian food truck). We'd def stay again! Great location, great hosts, comfy beds. Thank you Taylor and family!!

Roy was super responsive and let us keep our stuff at the house until the train came. Very cute and cozy with a nice kitchen.
We went to see the polar bears (which we saw!) and the northern lights (which we didn't see). We did a full day polar bear tour (not on a tundra buggy) and a half day City tour. We enjoyed both but really appreciated the City tour which taught us more about the community (very small, very north, very cold, very windy). We also visited the eskimo museum (which we had more time there) and walked around and got pictures of most of the murals. There is an ATM in town and the post office will give you an (ink) stamp in your passport. We bought some locally made jam - both with berries we had never heard of before. A really wonderful, memory making trip!) We'd love to return to see the beluga whales.

The people of Churchill are what make this town amazing.
The people of Churchill are what make this town amazing. I thought it would be to see the polar bears or northern lights. But getting to know the people made the trip. We went on 3 tours. Blue Sky Sled & Bed, and a couple other Polar Bear tours. They were all amazing. Great guides. We also visited the Anglican Church for Sunday service. They were very welcoming and we got to meet some more locals. This was definitely a bucket list trip. And it was beyond my wildest expectations.

There are a lot of options for tours but I have to say the one we picked: Sub Artic Tour - for a full day was worth the price. We got picked up at the house we rented, had a van for us only (we were a 4 persons group). The guide, being a local, showed us a lot of areas, answered all our questions and agreed to return to some spots we really liked. His explanation's were great and full of history of the region and we could discussed the local cultures and customs. As outsiders it was great to learn so much.
When we arrived, the train was early and we had no place to go. We met someone from the hospital and found out that the cafeteria at the hospital was open early and let us have a great breakfast (they have hot and cold options) for a reasonable price.
It is easy to go for walk around town ... you just have to make sure to be back to your accommodations by 10pm curfew due to the polar bears.
We you come in the fall season like us, make sure to bring multiple layers of clothing. We did and appreciated being able to add or remove layers when needed.
When we left on the last day, we had super at the Reef Coffee Shop (at the Churchill Seaport Hotel). The choices of food was great and the prices were reasonable.. the food was excellent and the Sweet Potatoes fries were the best I had in a long time. The bison burger was also really good. Would recommend this place without hesitation.

If you're coming to Churchill in October it's almost certain you're coming to see polar bears. If you're arranging your own trip you won't do better than staying at the Iceberg Inn.
It's small, clean, convenient and Angela & Bill are excellent hosts with fantastic local knowledge and contacts.
A brilliant trip - saw the bears and much more and had a really enjoyable stay.
Can't recommend this place & host enough!

Polar bear sightings and beluga whales.
Unfortunately the Northern Lights didn't play ball on the 2 nights I was there.
Very expensive for food and very limited grocery stores.
There is a community centre with a swimming pool and a great little free museum.

You really have to consider signing up for tours as walking around or driving is not a practical option. There are bear patrols in town but you are strongly advised not to venture out of town on your own or go out after 10 PM. All the tours we took were eco-friendly and well-organized.
Lazy Bear lodge has a very comfortable, though pricy restaurant/cafe.

Taylor went out of his way to be helpful the whole time. He collected me from the train station, took time to walk me through a Churchill map, let me continue to use the room for the entire final day (it hadn't been booked that night), and dropped me back to the station. I really appreciated his kind and helpful attitude.
The hotel was really convinient when it came to organising shuttles too and from the train station and also linoed with some of the polar bear tours i was a part of. Everybody was nice, quiet and redpectable and the owners were pleasant.
The house was more than perfect.
Roy and his wife were so nice and helpfull.
I wish we could stay here for another week.
If we ever go back to Churchill 100% sure we will choose for the same accommodation.
