Beautiful, artsy, laid back town with some great dining options. We enjoyed the Watermill Park and the Owls Nest Cafe. We were not expecting to find a Christmas Store but this was one of the best supplied, all things Christmas that you will find. We did a 3 km easy hike around Chemainus Lake Trail, also know as Weddle Lake Trail. Very beautiful and easy to walk.
Chaemainus is located for easy day trips to Campbell River or Comox.

We particularly value the feeling of Community that Chemainus exudes. This is a place that welcomes it's visitors with open arms. People here are at peace and are very helpful and accommodating. Chemainus is a beautiful town to walk around in and admire and it is more than simply charming. Free art and music surround you, and the merchants you speak to are only too happy chat with you and to make your visit a pleasant one. Parking in town is readily available and comes at no charge! A scrumptious and reasonably priced menu awaits you at Bonnie Martin's Restaurant and so many more treats you'll find in the many other stores and venues. The people in this town can't do enough for you and the things to do are endless. Enjoy Chemainus. We loved it so much, we moved here!

The house was beautiful, and the view as well.
The house was beautiful, and the view as well. We came in winter, and the fireplace was perfect. It has a stocked kitchen and really awesome appliances. Our hostess was very nice and treated us to a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Very relaxing nice stay. I would not recommend the Sawmill Cafe however, that is close by. Rude staff, and we gave it more than one try. I asked the waitress for wine recommendation, and she gave me the worst wine, I had ever tasted in my life. I could not drink it. I went to the bar, and ordered something more acceptable. Then went with another pick from the waitress again. Something different than the first two, and low and behold same awful wine I got the first time. Tasted like someone put liquid smoke in it. I felt they had a very nasty wine they were trying to get rid of. No excuse for that kind of treatment. Other than that very sweet lay back Canadian town, as were neighboring towns. Lovely place.

A very quant and cute village.
A very quant and cute village. Great food and cafes, nice selection of shops and very, very friendly people. Feels very clean and safe. Perfect for walking and easy access to the water and small beaches. Add in the murals and the lively arts community and you have a village that I could easily move to.

Chemainus is a lovely town, do not need more than a day but it is a good point to travel from to see surrounding area. Easy walk around. Theater is great, part of the reason we visited. The murals are the highlight. Enjoyed the Indian restaurant (Invitation), heard the Thai restaurant was good, did not get a chance to try.

Perfect, quiet location in cul de sac, just across from a quiet little neighbourhood beach access park; very welcoming hosts; very nicely furnished, and well set-up, with lovely guest area as well as the 2 bedrooms; delicious breakfast with very wide choice; great communication; safe parking for our bikes. Only a couple of minutes ride from shops, restaurants, and centre of Chemainus. But so quiet and peaceful.
Beautiful French oceanside-themed room, simple but elegant. Quiet. Great view of the ocean. The owner was very friendly and attentive. They have a stocked games room with pool table, board games, various teas and coffee, a large screen TV and various DVDs. Would be a good place to stay with family or friends. Short drive to Chemainus, beach and various outdoor activities.
Close to Chemainus Theatre. Quiet, peaceful location with spectacular views. Appreciated the clear directions given by the host otherwise the property would have been difficult to locate particularly after dark.
Although we brought our own tea, coffee, etc. similar items were provided by the host. Thank you
I needed a budget friendly stay in the area and this was perfect. The room was clean and everything went well for my stay. I would stay there again if I needed to. And I found old downtown Chemainus so lovely.
