A small town with a very beautiful beach. Perfect for relaxing, either as a couple or family. The weather was great even in winter!
Tip: June and July are a bit rainy. August is better, and still cheap.

Carneiros Beach or Sheep Beach is a still an almost-deserted beach, with a few houses, bars and hotels. The turquoise water is warm and calm all year long, and the sand is fine and light. The beach is full of tall old coconut trees swaying in the breeze.
The main attraction here is the 18th Century Chapel of São Benedito, which sits right on the water’s edge. It’s postcard perfect and made to order for taking some beautiful photos. There are not a lot of activities in the area—this is more of a “relax at the beach” kind of a beach.
If you’re staying here, there are a few really good hotels to choose from and there is at least one excellent restaurant here (Beijupirá). There is a bar from which you can join a catamaran tour to some natural pools.
Many folks come here just for the day from one of the many beach towns up and down the coast, like Porto de Galinhas (32 miles north or an hour drive), Maragogi (south about 33 miles or an hour drive). Whether you decide to stay here or only come for a day, you will be glad that you did, because it is unforgettably beautiful!
