Pouso Alegre is a bit bigger than the average countryside city. It has markets to purchase some local items and a few touristic places (not the strongest point of the city, though)
Nearby cities also have more natural life, like Congonhal with its waterfalls.

Pouso Alegre is not a tourist place, as far as I know. But I was curious about it after passing near to the city so many times. The city is clean, organized and the people are friendly and talkative. Nice place to live in.
I stayed for one night only and have dinner at the "Grande Muralha" restaurant (you need to climb the staircase to access it). They serve Chinese food, the best I had in years. Good portions and fair prices.
The hotel is well located, walking distance from various well rated restaurants, such as Costela no Bafo. Rooms were spacious and very clean. From the windows you can see the whole city of Pouso Alegre and its surroundings.

I liked everything about Ibis Pouso Alegre especially Isabella's competence and good vibes (the receptionist). Breakfast was great, relaxing shower, confy bed, silent room. Everything was great.
