The location is good. It's right down the street from the beach and in the middle of a good neighborhood. the lobby was also well kept the entire stay. The staff were professional and polite, if a little terse, but in fairness that may be culture shock on my part, and they are fine for Rio hotels.

Niteroi is about the same distance from the International Airport as the more famous South Zone (Copacabana. Ipanema). The Niteroi Palace Hotel is in town, walking distance from Shopping Centre and the 30 min relaxing ferry boats to Rio City Centre. Very Good nearby "home cooking by weight" lunch only restaurant - ask Desk for simple direction. Few central night-time restaurants, but there are some within (secure) taxi distance. Avoid sitting street side for snacks/coffee and not to attract attention to multiple hand/carry bags.
The staff were really accommodating and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious. The view from our room was beautiful, a view of Rio, Niterói and several landmarks like Christ the redeemer and sugarloaf mountain. Absolutely breathtaking and a beautiful room too.

I stayed in 4 places in Niteroi. This one was a bit more expensive, but it was also by far the best experience.
Staff was really helpful, the rooms are large, comfortable and very nice. the terrace is really cool. We only had one night but will definitely come back every time we need a room in Niterói
Breakfast was good. Location in Niteroi was okay, you can walk to the big mall (10 minutes) and to Niteroi Beach 5 (minutes).
