We had a wonderful stay at the Cactus house, the apartment was new and spacious, warm with a fully kitted kitchen, the bed was very comfortable and we had a good sleep in this beautiful tranquil village. It truly brought me back in my happy childhood memories spending time with my grandma in a village like this one. Peter was an exceptional host, on arrival he welcomed us with a complimentary bottle of his own red wine, mineral water and loads of other free goodies to munch - after the long day we've had this was exactly what we needed. He even thought about our dog and got some treats for him as well. And we had a lovely chat with Peter who could tell you so many interesting stories. Also, the bathroom had a nice large shower head which was great. We had a stroll throughout the village with our dog and it was just peacefully quiet, just what we needed. A small rural hotel in the middle of the countryside, among wine vines, as they are also a winery, where everything is well cared for and the surrounding landscape is beautiful. The rooms are nicely decorated (maybe too much for me...) with nice, quality and well cared furnitures. The swimming pool is lovely, with beautiful views and the staff go out of their way to help and please. Especially a lovely guy who works in the kitchen whom has excellent English. As it is 20km from the nearest town, we had dinner at the hotel. The food is OK, but nothing exceptional and the price is higher than average for same quality, around 20%. We had problems paying by credit card, but they eventually sorted it out. Breakfast is very good.

The apartment is much nicer and cosier than shown in the pictures. It is well equipped with all hardware such as a cooker, kettle, new fridge, microwave, portable radiators and an easy-to-use washing machine; it is also well stocked with essentials from cleaning products, pots and pans, towels and toiletries to tea, coffee and sugar. The beds are comfortable; wifi is good. The apartment is located in a quiet residential street with a 10 minute walk to the centre and 3-4 minute walk to a pizza restaurant/bar, a convenience store, and a British cafe. The sunny garden is pleasant to sit in with ample space to hang washing. Parking was easy- either on site or on the road. Host is responsive and helpful.
