It is a beautiful authentic Bulgarian ethno house! It is meticulously decorated down to the last detail, from the restaurant to the garden and rooms. Both the single and double rooms were beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds. We were traveling with our dog, and both the guesthouse and restaurant are pet-friendly! I highly recommend trying the mish-mash in the restaurant!

The hotel is in the city centre, so all interesting locations to visit are nearby.
The bed was really comfortable and the room was clean.
The food at breakfast and overall dishes at their restaurant was really good in comparison to other restaurants in the city centre, which I sincerely do not recommand.
Located at Osum River in the historical part of Lovech, the family-run Hotel Varosha 2003 offers free Wi-Fi and a traditional tavern with Bulgarian and international cuisine.

I liked the hotel, it was furnished in style and good taste. It, actually exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth the money!

Except the man in his late fifties who was either the manager or owner...why not him. I was talking with the receptionist, he had no idea what for but I'm English and have lived in Bulgaria for 17 years and speak Bulgarian, something he did not know......he entered and said very abruptly...finish that now I have work for you.....ok he's some type of boss but my conversation was important as should be the way clients and staff are treated.
BUT
..all the other staff were WONDERFUL.
Friendly, effective and accommodating.
Smiles and chat which for me, traveling alone is very important.
If you do decide to go, the evening food menu includes ribs. They were delicious 😋

it is a tiny little town that used to be a center and today is an abandoned, a bit ghostly place: you walk around and you see that there was culture and life in the past and today there are no people to keep and develop its past glory.

A city very fancy, with old streets and houses from stone, many good restaturants, and an interesting covered bridge with souvenir shops.
Old fortress is protecting all city, togheter with the statue of the country hero Vasil Levski.
Spectacular caves and waterfalls are near of city, and monastery Troyan is also close.

Lovech is a pleasant town which is worth a few days visit. There are many things to see: the old fortress, the old town Varosha, the old covered bridge over the Osam river, the large city park on a hill overlooking the town, the local museums. Lovech is a good basis to explore the beautiful surroundings and the nature landmarks like Devetaska Cave, Kurshuna nature park and waterfalls. As well, Lovech is a good transit point before/after crossing the Troyan pass.

I stayed there because it is the nearest population to Devedashka cave, which I wanted to see and so I did (Looked for a taxi driver to take me there -50levas with return-. Lovech is a small town and nice for a walk and I think that one day is enough to see it. The transport with Sofia is not really good, only 3 buses a day and the train takes 5 hours.
Apart from the covered bridge where you can find a tourist office with lot of information, there is a fortress on a hill very easy to climb up.
