There are lots of pros and cons about Haskovo and Bulgaria...
There are lots of pros and cons about Haskovo and Bulgaria in general. We felt it was like coming back in last century with facilities.
We just could not put up with smoking everywhere.
There are no cash machines around and you have to pay in cash in most places.
No free drinking water facilities.
Not many lamp posts outside, roads conditions leave much to be desired and people say it is not safe to go out late when it is dark…
Not many people speak English or pretend they don’t understand and local people take advantage of you, offering double prices for taxi and other services.
Good place to play tennis but not sure we would like to come back there next time.

We had a very unique funky room and lovely hosts.
Spasidar (sorry if I mispelt your name!) spoke excellent english and was so helpful and welcoming. A problem with the shower was sorted out promptly.
If you want a generic hotel experience, look elsewhere, but if you want something friendly, quirky and a little bit different, look here.
It's close to the centre and handy for everything.
We only intended to stay one night, but it turned into two. They kindly allowed us a late checkout also. Very accommodating!
The location was perfect for our one-night stay in Haskovo. The hotel is next to the main road, so we expected it to be noisy, but that was not the case. The rooms were clean, and the restaurant downstairs was nice and fair-priced. The staff was extremely helpful and prompt, they helped with special requests and needs. Parking was available with a prior reservation.
Good location to the center of town and restaurants and supermarket. The hotel is clean, room is very basic. The bathroom is okay, the shower is right by the sink and drains next to the toilet, which get clogged up after every shower. The bonus however, is that the room came with a balcony. The A/C works. And the staff is super nice.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff are friendly and the breakfast is good. We also liked the size of the room, the comfort of the bed and the cleanliness of the place.
