We had a lovely weekend at the Hotel Lion in Borovets. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel offered an excellent value for the amenities provided. Our room was spacious and comfortable. All the spa facilities were excellent, and the meals in the restaurant were well prepared. Really, the restaurant is so convenient we felt no need to go up into the center of Borovets and were happy to have every meal at the hotel. The breakfast included with the room is also excellent with a very large selection to choose from. The Lobby Bar is also the perfect spot for an excellent afternoon coffee or drink. The location in the woods is also very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning a return visit!

It was very quiet and lovely during off-season.
All meals were tasty and high quality, even if we were the only guests at a particular time of the day.
The board games for the kids are a knockout offer, we spent a LOT of time with them.

Gabriela and Mario were very nice to everyone, always there to help. The Hotel Boutique is looking awesome, from the style and the furniture to the plates. Clearly, it was a great investment. The food is fresh and delicious, the deserts, especially the cake made with yogurt, honey, nuts, and blueberries!!! 🤩🤩🤩 the ladies from cleaning did their job very well. I totally recommend this hotel boutique, very cozy, clean, beautiful and the food very tasty.

The place ia super cozy and the staff was very helpful. I was looking for a nice and quiet place to relax with my partner and I couldn't think of anywhere else better than this. The pools are great, and the chess and pool board on the lobby are very nice to have.

The staff at the hotel was very kind. My car broke down and they did everything they could to help. They communicated with the car hire company and made sure they would send someone to pick me up.
The atmosphere was very friendly, the food was great. I would definitely stay there again.

Lots of mosquitos. Had to keep the only door closed, breathing the same air. Suffocation !!! Rude & very unhelpful staff. Shallow table of (less than 1 meter) Stink in downstairs corridor & it`s like ghost town!!!

Probably good for beginners (less than 3 trips). Anything more and you’ll be bored after a day. Resprt is dreadful - like Blackpool on ice. No atmosphere, just bars, average restaurants and limited skiing.
Two good things - Rila hotel is lovely, and Victoria restaurant is a gem amongst some very basic food offerings

Borovets is a great place for families looking for a ski...
Borovets is a great place for families looking for a ski vacation. It's not to hard to get to from Sofia airport. Just 77 minutes away from the airport. The town felt safe and quiet even at night ( at least where we stayed). It has a green slope which is ideal for beginners. The blue and green slopes are right next to each other. This enabled me to see my daughter ski on the blue slope while I used the easier green slope which was too easy for her. The lift is safe and efficient. The slopes are wide enough to accommodate all the skiers without feeling too crowded. There are lots of good options for ski lessons and equipment. Personally I recommend Ollie Moly Ski school and rental. One piece of advice: don't change money to BGN in the airport. You get a much better rate by changing in Borovets. There are plenty of change stores in the town. The town is very close to the ski slopes. There are plenty of places to buy food

Beautiful slopes and lots of chairs available high on the mountains. It is however extremely crowded at the bottom gondola. It opens at 8:30 but at that time the queue is already very long and it's going slowly. We spent almost 45-60 mins staying in the queue at the bottom gondola. Also, the closing time is 4:30 PM. We would have expected that during Febr when the day is longer that they will be open much later than that.

The location was perfect minute's away from the ski lift bars and restaurants. A nice quiet spot located in the woods . The owner and his staff gave us a very warm welcome and were very polite and helpful on arrival. Would definitely re - visit this hotel.

This is one of my favorite hotels in Bulgaria.
It’s so calm and relaxing experience. The nature is amazing.
Very clean, always nice aroma all around the hotel - rooms, corridors.
The food menu is beyond your expectations, also the cocktails in the lobby bar are very high level.
You are feeling pampered all the way - turn down service also.
It seemed as if I was the only visitor there. It was a clean and well-maintained family hotel. A very good location within the forest. Not much was operational besides the coffee maker. In my opinion good value for money. Borovets is a beautiful resort but they need to work on maintaining the public roads.
I visited the hotel when there was no snow in the area. Despite that it was a great experience, We enjoyed hiking in the surrounding forest and visited the village of Borovets. The rooms were comfortable and cozy with everything anyone needs, even a small kitchenette. All in all a great time spend
