I came to chittagong for business. But, but... If you want to experience Bangladesh.. And you don't want to try Dhaka (cuz.. Trust me.. Dhaka... Is not for the faint hearted).. Chittagong will give you a good enough Bangladeshi vibe.
Just be prepared to be shocked by the way traffic flows. Unless you've experienced other south Asian countries.. The traffic and the way things flow is not normal.
Other than that.. Chittagong has some nice places for food, try handi dhaba.. Take out.. And others.
If you feel you need a break from the experience that is chittagong you can always escape to Radisson Blu for some quiet time and then back again to brave chittagong again.
What I find most charming about chittagong (and the surrounding towns.. Definitely find a local to take you to shatkania, Pattaya etc) is how lush and green it is.
The air is really nice in spite of the traffic.. You'll definitely feel nice. (breathing in the air)
It's quite affordable and with just 250 dollars, you can have a weeks worth of fun and feel like you're some rich person splurging.
Always carry a lot of taka of small bills cuz you'll feel obliged to tip the workers.. 20, 50 and 100 taka bills depending on nicely you want to tip.
For reference 1 dollar is about 120 taka. Giving someone 50 taka for a tip is decent. 100 taka would be for bell boys in fancy hotels etc.
Definitely go see the port side and the beach.
The locals are quite friendly. It's surprisingly a very safe city and not that dirty. It's not like pristine clean but definitely way better than many cities of India.

Quieter than Dhaka, busier than Shylet and less natural beauty than Moulvibazar. Has good foot outlets, overall. Evening street food is good has lots of sea food options. Kaptai lake is good if you are into nature and Bandarbon is good, they also have cave in Aloo Tilaa where you can do a “cave walk”.

Local cuisine, mezzan feast , Natural beauty and hospitality of people . Didn't like not having street bin and pop up shops blocking foot path. Beautiful Chittagong needs more attention to attract tourists.

Chittagong Division is a breathtakingly beautiful region of Bangladesh that boasts lush green hills, sparkling waterfalls, and fascinating indigenous culture. The scenic beauty of the area is mesmerizing, and the friendly locals and their unique way of life make it an enriching experience. However, it's worth noting that the area is relatively undeveloped, and the infrastructure can be basic. Nonetheless, for travelers seeking off-the-beaten-track adventure and an authentic experience of Bangladesh, Chittagong division is an excellent choice.

I recently stayed at the Peninsula chittagong Hotel for a weekend getaway and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home.
The room itself was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with all the amenities I needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the linens were soft and luxurious.
One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's restaurant, which served delicious, locally-sourced food that was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations.
The hotel's location was also perfect for exploring the surrounding area, with plenty of nearby attractions and activities to keep me entertained.
Overall, I can't recommend the Peninsula chittagong Hotel highly enough. The attention to detail, level of service, and quality of amenities truly made my stay unforgettable. I can't wait to come back and visit again!"
