I was in the south in the parish of Christ Church, south of Bridgetown. There are public vans here called ZRs that you can hail on the street. The cost is $3.50 BBD or $1.75 USD. They will take you to Bridgetown and beyond. There are beautiful beaches all along the south and west coast, something for everybody! I did mostly self-catering and groceries can be expensive compared to Canada but shop carefully and you will be fine. :)

Bridgetown is quite authentic with its British West Indies heritage and distinctive cuisine. We only stayed one night as we were coming off a long cruise and needed to get back home. A surprise find was a Jewish Museum in an old synagogue in Bridgetown that is well worth visiting.

Bridgetown is small but provides your needs while on vacation. Rockley beach is my favorite spot. There are many affordable places to eat. I rented a car & drove around the island. There's also quick accessible transportation. The people are extremely friendly. I felt very safe there. Definitely returning

Everything in Barbados is expensive for what it is.
Everything in Barbados is expensive for what it is. If you’re looking for an island getaway, you’re better off in the DR, Mexico, Jamaica, etc. Locals aren’t very welcoming in Barbados, juices and other stuff aren’t even from fresh local fruits. It is a huge rip off going to this country. Will never go again.

I came from Canada where prices often go up on everything, but I was shocked how expensive it was in Barbados. I do acknowledge the fact that it's a beautiful Caribbean resort and a famous tourist place, but some stuff was 200% or 300% more expensive for the same goods and brands as in Canada. One thing the beer and rum lovers will like is that these beverages are very cheap there in comparison to wine, gin or whiskey.
Other than that - totally great place to come for holiday!

The city was clean.
The city was clean. Customer service is lacking in many stores. Went to pay for a perfume at cave shepherd the cashier sat there counting her float and paid me no mind. Not even a greeting. I had to ask what's going on and the sales rep took me to another cashier

The beach is one of the best! In the morning, you can see the racehorses taking a swim, and the grooms let you ride them a little. We've got the seaside view room, which, we were told, had been renovated more recently. The furniture, the power jacks, etc were dated, but well-maintained. You can walk around the beach nearby, and get a taxi to go explore Bridgetown, which is around 30-40 BBD. The reception has the power adaptors for free for those coming from Europe, but you need to leave a deposit.
Located on a beautiful beach.
Great setting, great hotel.
A big room. Very good air con.
Fabulous location, shops, restaurants etc within walking distance or by mini van taxi that are ever present for pick ups or designated bus stops. 3.50 BBD dollars per person anywhere!
There is entertainment at the hotel and themed nights, we tried the BBQ night - the food was excellent together with the Bajan dancing/entertainment.
Great location, mid way between Bridgetown and airport. Very friendly and helpful staff. Right on almost a private beach, and a beautiful palm tree outlook. Well stocked kitchenette and good supermarkets nearby.
Rooms large and welcoming. Would stay again in preference to any other Barbados hotel.
Everything about this hotel was first class; small terraced area for breakfast was delightful, room was airy and the staff all very friendly. We were able to leave our luggage with the security team whilst we went shopping in Bridgetown, which was ideal.
