To access the car park you need to drive through the drive-through bottle shop and you're able to park right outside the room. Staff were lovely and were extra kind in allowing me to heat my dinner in their microwave as I'd stupidly bought it before triple checking if my room had a microwave. While there was no microwave, there was a fridge and a kettle, plus extra blankets in the cupboard. In the end, it was a room with a bed and that's what I was paying for.

A beautifully renovated property with luxe fittings in a quiet backstreet.
We were only there for one night but there was ample room for up to three couples to stay for a longer period.
The complimentary wine and chocolates were a lovely touch.
Communication with the host was personable and timely.
Access to the property via locked key safe was easy.

Yarram is the place I was born, so visiting with my family 50 years later was a treat. Yarram itself has great walking paths amongst the beautiful wetland . They have a Woolworths and great coffee shops. Only 20 minutes from Yarram is a beautiful fishing village called Port Albert, where they had fireworks on New Years Eve (at 9.30 pm for the kids) that were spectacular.
Also you can visit one of the most beautiful beaches in Victoria, the Woodside beach, which is part of the 90 mile beach.
And then you must visit Tara Valley and Bulga park for beautiful walks and to listen to the most exquiste chorus of birds, especially the Lyrebirds.

Great country town that doesn't give up!
Great country town that doesn't give up! The Heesco murals are fantastic and the locals friendly. There's a great little free campground for caravans coming through down by the river at the northern end of town. Good supermarket, bakeries etc. Really liked it here.

Yarram is a very small little town in the middle of a farming facility. We stayed there in the middle of a road trip because of tra el time and distance. It was about half an hour from the beach which was the beginning of where the 90 Mile beach began. Halfway to a lot of places. A supermarket and a pub serving meals. I think maybe a Chinese restaurant and a fast food place but nit much else. Ut serves the community not tourists as such! Pleasant but only a stopover h less you were there for family or wedding etc. This house was gorgeous tho and deserves the highest ratings I can give it. Worth the stop just to stay I

Pleasant country town.
Pleasant country town. Beautiful wetlands walk near the centre of town. Skate park and pump track for the kids. Bus three times a day to Melbourne via S Gippsland Highway, plus another three options via Traralgon then train. The rail trail from Nyora through the Gippsland hills join with the Yarram to Port Albert section at Alberton - it's almost ready to go.

We were in the area for a wedding the town is small but well serviced with a super armed (woolies) fuel, pub, cafe, restaurants and a bakery.
Nightlife is a little lacking with most places closed by 8pm.
It’s a short drive to Port Albert with plenty other places of interest within easy driving distance.
We didn’t need Taxis or Uber so I can’t comment on their availability. Roads are well maintained but watch out for wildlife particularly at dawn and dusk because there’s plenty around.
A bus service between Yarram and Traralgon that appears to run quite regularly.
