Beautiful rooms, clean and had all the little extras

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Tropiq. As a first time solo traveller the staff were incredibly welcoming and made my experience truly enjoyable. Ashley, in particular, was so kind and helpful, she was always keen to hear about what I had gotten up to during the day, she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The hospitality here really stands out, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly environment.

Insufficient pillows and none available in the hotel
TV did not work the entire 4 days despite asking the staff to have it fixed. Many promisies until they eventually told me the maintanence man was on holidays on day 3. Seemingly noone to replace him in this size hotel.
I asked for taxi to be ordered and told leave it until the mornig and the staff would progress. I waited a considerable time while the styaff memeber was on the phone. I rang myself. My taxi turned up promptly, however there were other visitors who had the staff phone the taxi company some 45min earlier and it still did not arrive.
Swimming pool not functional.

I made a complain when it was clear that the TV and any other issues were not going to be addresses. The manager FINALLY came out of the office and in a toxically pleasant persona said she would reimburse me 1 nights accommodation ($140). She also suggested I should have asked earlier as I could have watched the TV on the veranda. I did not at this time think it was worthwhile telling her that I did mention it approx 5 times to the desk staff day 1 onwards.
I agreed that the reimbursemnt was suitable. Still 3 weeks later no money. It took several calls to Booking .com and similarly to Hides as Booking .com suggested they had tried sufficiently with no response.
On my last call the money had just been transerred 2 days prior however the desk satff told me they had transferred the money while I was still at the hotel..

If you have a hire car, Westcourt is a good place to stay. Away from the mad tourist traffic and late-night city noises. Just a two-minute drive to the Esplanade, Cairns Station, major shopping centre and the city centre.
