The location is excellent. A short walk from the train station and the public bus outside the gates, to take us to all of the wonderful spots in the area. It’s a wonderful time warp inside the Carrington, with sculptures and framed photos and stories of its past. At the same time, the upkeep means that it’s completely comfortable. Best of all is the staff - who answered all queries with a smile and complete attention to our needs and making sure they were met.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable and in an ideal spot to get around Katoomba. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge with a lovely deep bath which is becoming a rare thing to have in a hotel these days.

Great local businesses, people were friendly.
Great local businesses, people were friendly. Local pricing was expensive, cafes have different prices for dine in versus take away, this can get pricey when travelling with a family. Try and travel a bit further afield where the prices are more reasonable. Close to train station. Will need a car if wanting to travel off the beaten track.

Great local shopping centre with cafes and plenty of food choices including The Lemon Grocer supermarket for self catering. The Fed cafe and Bakery Patisserie Schwarz were delicious. Plenty of parking. It would be difficult to get around without a car to drive to accomodation and local attractions.

Conservation Hut offers great views and a fabulous menu and wine list.
For an evening meal I'd fully recommend the Avalon in Katoomba . Sensational food and cocktails in a quirky re purposed picture theatre.
Local art gallery/gardens also worth a visit

So many hidden gems within driving, walking, running, biking...
So many hidden gems within driving, walking, running, biking distance, I only wish I had the ability to stay longer. Would highly recommend taking a trip to see Blackfellow Hands, or more local to Wentworth falls take the walk to see Empress Falls (not suitable for those with mobility issues). Scenic World was the initial reason for us staying in Wentworth Falls, but this was a huge disappointment for us considering there are so many free and beautiful alternatives. Scenic World is awesome for those not able to walk long distances or access areas that require unassissted mobility, otherwise a waste of money.

Wentworth Falls is fantastic.
Wentworth Falls is fantastic.
Unfortunately a LOT of track closures following an extended wet period which has resulted in unstable cliffs in places- Worth a bit of research as things may change at short notice. National Parks posts maps showing which areas are closed off- sadly most of these are unintelligible... would be nice if they simply marked up what you CAN do right now. National Pass has been closed for some years and following tragedy last year the lower passes have been closed- I believe Parks are doing some work to upgrade.
Still, the walk down to the base of the Upper Falls is not to be missed... even if you do have to retrace steps rather than making a circuit..
Conservation Hut closed, seems to be under renovation- BYO picnic!

Spacious and well furnished property overlooking the mountains. Beds were cosy and included heated blankets which kept us very warm during our winter stay.
Close walk to Valley of the Waters Lookout which connects to a great hiking trail towards Wentworth Falls.
Fireplace and telescope were great additions to the enjoyment of the property. Firewood was also provided despite us being told to bring our own.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely old building. Free EV charging. Very nice food at the restaurant, particularly the pumpkin ravioli! Can get busy so you may need to book! Room 15 was comfortable and quiet with a nice modern bathroom. Location is an easy walk to train station and village shops. I would suggest a stop at Swartz Patisserie before or after a walk around Wentworth Falls Lake.
Lovely little place relatively close to Wentworth Falls. Plenty of amenities that a family would find to be useful - a fully equipped kitchen and fridge, and a laundry. Very quiet and peaceful. Owners were very helpful.
The food was pretty nice, it was what we needed. We loved the location because it was nice and calm and we could walk around the area. It was also close to the Wentworth Falls and we loved everything.
