Outstanding location, walking distance to the best hotels, restaurants, wine bars, maritime museum, city shopping. A short hope across the Ross Creek and you’re in the heart of Town. Good, secure parking, clean facilities and loads of room.
The queen bed was excellent, more cooking facilities and utensils than many places, big cold ‘fridges, fast WiFi and a BIG smart TV.. What a surprise!!
Amazingly good for the price.
Also, some wonderful views of the river, Castle Hill and the CBD.

We had previously lived in Townsville and were surprised by the expansion of the suburbs. The roads are great and gave been widened and very easy to get around. Lots of eateries close by and a short walk over the river to the city.

Beautiful location, lots to do.
Beautiful location, lots to do. I came with my husband but it would also be a great destination for families. Went to Lux Noir Dinner Theatre and it was amazing! Highly recommend going if you are visiting. Magnetic Island is beautiful but hire a car to get around! Casino was also fun!

Townsville is a very different large town.
Townsville is a very different large town. It is very independent being so far away in distance form the State's capital being Brisbane. It is very active given it is a garison city. There seems to be a stronger focus on expanding food outlets and cuisine. A car is definately needed to get around.

Townsville has a vibrant nightlife. Got a Kabab at a ridiculous time at night. A really good Kabab. I wish I could remember the name so I could recommend it.
New to Townsville we found it hard to find a take away place for food. We left from the hospital hungry lol. We should of googled food places before we left. Eventually we found Hungry Jacks.

I find Townsville a very dry town although it is like most nothern Queensland towns hot, dry and humid. Apart from that I believe it is a nice place for a stop over when travelling anywhere North or inland.

The motel was close to the Mater Hospital where we had an appointment. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is nothing we could find that we could complain about. The breakfast was very good. We travel to Townsville often and we will certainly stay at this motel again.

The room was comfortable, pool was nice, location was practical - walking distance to restaurants, bars etc - but not as enjoyable as the Strand. Be careful as there are two Oaks hotels on the same street! It is hard to know which is which when you are booking. We originally booked the wrong one which is a lot further away from the hub. We only found out when we happened to be driving past and saw there were two!
The hotel is very old but it was what we expected for the price we paid for 4 nights , The room was clean , comfortable bed , aircon and cold fridge , All the staff were very friendly and hospitable , the food was great value, cheap drinks , lovely beer gardens , 1 bloke walk from The Strand boulevard walk , will stay again if back it town
Gorgeous hotel standard hostel and great value for money. Awesome vibes and nice people around. Super clean and cosy. Best hostel in Townsville by far (I stayed in all of them) Peggy and Arthur are amazing staff, super caring, nice and understanding. I would go there a million times
Whilst this is a very “no frills hotel” it has an Excellent location, close to the most desirable part of Townsville, on The Strand. Many cafes, restaurants & bars within easy walking distance. Staff super friendly & rooms serviced daily.
One of the best hotels I've stayed at in Townsville yet - I am a frequent work traveller and it's always a bonus when I find somewhere new that is worth the change to my usual acccommodation.
