Clean comfortable accommodation, air-conditioner can be temp set low enough on fan to be perfect temp for sleep. Bed was comfortable. Fluffy towels. Friendly helpful man at desk with recommendations for dinner. Lightening fast internet, I did a speed test 100mb nearly. As someone who works in IT, I appreciate this a lot. Even if this time was just to watch some netflix on my laptop in bed. Also nice touch letting you borrow electric fry pans to cook if needed.
Housed in a cosy 2-storey property, Dolphin Waters offers self-catering units with free Wi-Fi and access to spacious balconies. It features a saltwater pool, barbecue area and free DVD library.
Comfy motel. Aircon, beds, lamps, blinds, kitchenette and bathroom were great. Nice to have shampoo/conditioner provided. Lovely towels. We were in 6C which was tucked behind another room so no view but it was fine. So much to do we literally just slept there. Close to Country Club for dinner. Close for dolphin feeding.

Tin Can Bay is a lovely, relaxed small seaside town that offers an IGA, RSL, Bowls Club & Country Club, to name a few. The Country Club does a great Chinese meal for $13 a head. There is dolphin feeding available which is a winner with children. Plenty of fishing & parks either playground facilities. An easy place to get around, relaxed atmosphere. We love to come here to escape the hustle & bustle of the Sunshine Coast 🌞.

Tin Can Bay is a lovely seaside town that is fairly quiet.
Tin Can Bay is a lovely seaside town that is fairly quiet. The locals are quite friendly too.
We went to the Dolphin Discovery Centre to see the Dolphin feeding. The cost for entry to just sit and watch was $10 per person but if you want to feed the dolphins, then the cost is $15 per person. We were given a wonderful talk about the dolphins and the rules regarding the feeding of them. It was well worth it.
The RSL Club, which doesn't look much from outside, is open from 3 - 6pm daily for cheap drinks. It is worth dropping in and having a few cold drinks and a chat with a local. They are very friendly here.
The Country Club (which is both a golf club and bowling club) is another great place for a drink and dinner. The meals are quite reasonably priced, although we didn't eat there. We had food to cook in our cabin.

The bay itself was quite beautiful, but extremely windy while we were there, very nice quiet little town, the simple little take away shop (the snack shack) was definitely the best in town and most affordable and great quality food.

Tin Can Bay, off Season, is a pleasant seaside area suitable for a relaxed quiet holiday space or as a launching pad for a more adventurous ocean experience if you are looking for it. Rainbow Beach and K'gari Island (Fraser) are easily accessible from here also, just a short drive away.
Useful to have a car to get around (a 4WD would take you to extra adventures) but there is also a nice easy walk along the Esplanade to take in the ocean air. Looks like people with yachts or boats can safely shelter there also and access the town.

Tin Can Bay doesn't really strike me as a tourist spot - unless you're into fishing. Dining options are limited, as are town attractions. It would be well worth your while to bring groceries for any extended stay - as there is only 1 over priced IGA in store in town. If there was another - I didnt find it. Definitely suit anyone who wants the quiet life.

The staff were super friendly and genuinely happy. I felt like I could really relax during my stay. The layout of the hotel was perfect, and so was its location. Comfort and cleanliness of the room was A1. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we"ll be back.
Great location, beautiful views and rooms and facilities were clean and well maintained. Greg and Karen were great, easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Would highly recommend Dolphin Waters, can’t wait to go back.
Loved the option to rent a whole house, this meant the family could all stay together. Had all the comforts of home. 5 mins drive to the dolphin feeding and 5 minute walk to the hotel for dinner. Easy check in and out.
What a gem! Lovely comfortable house. Spotlessly clean. Great location near bay walkways. Quiet area. Comfortable beds. Everything you need for a great holiday ❤️
