Talbingo is a beautiful quiet town.
Talbingo is a beautiful quiet town. We stayed directly across from the school and park and the kids played lots of cricket. It’s a great place to stay if you want to visit Yarrangabilly caves as it’s only 45ins away. The thermal pool and walk around the river and up through the caves was terrific. Really nice to go to a cave setting that is quiet and isn’t packed full of tourists! We also visited blowering dam spillway and the Tumut 3 power station. The kids loved learning about hydroelectricity. And they want to go back!
Shop before you get there (in Tumut 25 mins away which has Woolworths, Coles etc) as there is only a large general store which isn’t open after 5.
We love Tumut and have stayed there a few times, and would have again. But we were really glad we chose to stay at Talbingo this time on our trip from Sydney through Tumut to Dalgety.
There is no Vodafone reception, but for us this was a plus as we all put down our phones for two days.
