We loved the boat trip on the Gordon River, and rising early to see the serene waters of Strahan. But the best thing was the play "The Ship That Never Was" - it had us in stitches. It was worth every cent of the entry fee!

    Lovely location.

Lovely location. Took a trip on the heritage railway and the Gordon River cruise. Both interesting and worthwhile. Would have liked to explore the area much further but not time. Saw a wallaby near the hotel one evening.

    The restaurants were marvellous.

The restaurants were marvellous. XMAS lunch at View 42 was truly superb and great value for money. This was our third visit to Strahan and we finally saw ‘The Ship That Never Was’. An absolute must see. Gut bustingly funny.

Strahan is a must see if travelling to Tassie.

Strahan is a must see if travelling to Tassie. The Gordon River Cruise is a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. I recommend a cocktail (or two) up at View 42 - the view over the bay is breathtaking and dinner at the Hamer is highly recommend.

Our room was comfortable, clean, modern, and quite spacious. We had a nice deck to sit out on with a view of the township. I was surprised we were so high up and although we were central it was a fair walk down a lot of steps to town. However the position is close to the boat harbour. We had an excellent meal at Risby Cove, with local produce and professional staff. we also enjoyed an entertaining trip on the family owned Strahan Heritage Cruises (there's a great little coffee spot opposite)

I don’t give enthusiastic reviews unless the service was exceptional. The staff at Franklin Manor were friendly and very helpful. Lincoln in particular did every possible to make our stay comfortable. We really enjoyed our short two day stay in Strahan. Premium deck on Gordon River Cruises was tourism done right - very impressive.

Perfect for our road trip journey around Tasmania. Was a cosy motel style room with all the trimmings. About 15min walk away from Strahan Esplanade. Kids enjoyed the trampoline and the free laundry was a definite plus.
