What a unique entry to a beach as you walk through the rocks the glimpses of the upcoming beach urges you forward to explore. The rocks open up to an amazing small beach with a rockpool safe for swimming. We were the first people on the beach that day so it was amazing to only see our footprints in the sand. After a great time at the beach head over to Stokes Bay Cafe opened from 11 -5 daily meals were fantastic and reasonably priced. You are a short drive to Pandana for all your grocery needs as Stokes Bay doesn't have a shop for general items. Driving around we were centrally located half way on the island to go and see Kangaroo Island spirits, lavender farm, eucalyptus farm, wool shed, admirals arch and remarkable rocks just make sure you get a entry ticket to Flinders chase the visitor centre Cafe didn't open until 9.30 and didn't accept cash at the Cafe. Short drive to Kingscote to go for lunch or to do some shopping. Had a great time had a small car not a 4wd but still went to all the places the roads were safe and signs easy to follow. Driving at dawn or dusk not advised due to wildlife.

The location overlooking the bay was beautiful, kangaroos everywhere birds bit of a drive from other places but all of Kangaroo Island is distant. The owners left us a lovely bottle of wine and a jar of local honey. Lovely touch.

Awesome scenery on the north side of KI, tranquil and the wild kangaroos were a nice bonus. The location really suited us. It would not suit those looking for nightlife or proximity to local towns. There is only one cafe locally (great food though). The cabin had excellent cooking facilities, including an clean and well-maintained outdoor gas BBQ. There are multiple opportunities to shop for groceries between the ferry and Stokes Bay. The nearest supermarket is approximately a 45 minute drive from the cabin. We found the location had easy vehicle access to other attractions, such as Admiral's Arch, Remarkable Rocks, Vivonne Bay and Seal Rocks.

A really lovely spot for families.

A really lovely spot for families. We were a couple but saw some families with little children in the sheltered lagoon area. Lovely restaurant at The Rockpool Cafe. You have to be quite slim to access the beach through the rocks.

Our stay at Waves & Wildlife was very relaxing. Sitting on the veranda, with views overlooking Stokes Bay were a great way to unwind after a busy day. The kangaroos and wallabies were extremely friendly and entertaining. The unit offered everything that was needed for our stay. The wine and chocolate on arrival was a nice touch.

Beautiful view. Look over Stokes Bay from balcony. Thanks Paul and his family (including their dogs, cat and sheep) for their hospitality . With Paul’s help, we were surrounded by wild kangaroos. Whole family enjoyed the unique experience. Now they also provide wifi.

Stokes Bay is remote but very beautiful, a very relaxing holiday. Need to plan meals and day trips around the remote location. Plenty of kangaroos around to greet us at night time.
