When we arrived, we were immediately overwhelmed by the stunning views. We went for a wine tasting and was treated with being looked after by Ian, the owner. He was very welcoming, knowledgeable and a joy to chat with while we tasted the wines. The wines were incredible too!
We made our way to our cottage, which fit our little family's needs perfectly. Clean and cosy with everything we needed. Our friends were in the cottage next to us and their kids loved seeing the chickens and wildlife.

Richmond, Tasmania, is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking a picturesque and peaceful escape. The town’s well-preserved Georgian architecture, historic landmarks, and local attractions make it a unique and enriching experience.
We have visited Richmond several times and it never disappoints. Richmond Botanical Co, opposite the maize, is our favourite shop. Richmond Botanicals Co. supplies a range of unique luxury Tasmanian giftware, including hand poured Tasmanian inspired Botanical soy candles, skin care products and much more.

Richmond is a very pretty convict town and easy to walk to all the sights and very quaint shops. We were limited to only one place to eat mid-week the Richmond Arms Hotel. Richmond is only 18 minutes to the airport for a very easy hire car drop off.

The intact historic buildings provide the visitor with a view of the past and certainly the Richmond Bridge is an incredible example of early architecture. This is so complementary to the rest of the town.

With only 1 day, impossible to see everything, but a stroll around the town and you see the most interesting buildings and homes, dating back to the mid 1800's and early 1900,s ,there are many antique shops filled with interesting artifacts, several excellent places to eat, and a very interesting miniature display village of Hobart in the early days of settlement and growth. The bridge built over the Coal River is a perfect example of the amazing hard work early convicts endured, and it is supposed too be the oldest in Australia, built 1823-25.

Just an amazing little town with what felt like lots of cool history. The people and little stores around us were all really friendly and awesome. Highly recommend Richmond Bakery for some famous scallop pies and also the whisky tasting room located in that same area.

The unit was everything we needed in a perfect location and at a very reasonable cost
. Richmond is a beautiful town and the unit is walking distance to bakery, grocery store, pub and everything Richmond has to offer. it was nice and warm, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a fabulous shower. I would stay again.
We LOVED everything about The Mill House. Susan and Rob have thoughts of everything that you could need for a perfect stay. The grounds are quite beautiful and the house is a very easy walk to the hotel for dinner…. and all the interesting little shops in Richmond.
Glamping tent was immaculate and so well finished. Thoughtful and luxurious. Bedding, linen, furniture and everything else was so comfortable. The views were incredible and such a quiet and tranquil spot. So close to Richmond and all it offers yet feels so far away
