Very comfortable place to stay, particularly if planning a trip to Maria Island as the ferry departs from nearby Triabunna. Host Mary was friendly and very helpful. We had the whole downstairs level of her house with a lovely patio overlooking the garden. Generous breakfast provisions. Would definitely stay again.

Used Orford as a convenient stop for Maria Island Ferry and a half day trip to Freycinet National Park. Because we were on the road at mealtimes didnt eat at hotel restaurant. Enjoyed the coastal scenery and even the inland rural spots when we got lost.

Orford was a nice stay for us.
Orford was a nice stay for us. If you want to visit places at the upper parts of Tasmania, then this is a perfect place. The place where we stayed was also quieter. At one side you will visit Cradle Mountains, zoo and on the other side you will visit Jacob's Ladder. Roads and nature views are beautiful and green.
There are couple of restaurants in the city. We ate at Kaffir Lime Thai restaurant, and it was delicious.
A nice place to stay indeed.

Beautiful location, helpful staff and good restaurant. Easy walking path along the banks of the water. Very peaceful. Close to Maria Island ferry terminal. Easy to find accommodation. Things to do and see in the coastal towns. The BEST ever seafood at the Fish Van on the Esplanade at Triabunna. Not to be missed, go early.

We took the ferry from Triabunna to Maria Island for a day visit, a lovely experience. We then stayed in Orford in order to run/walk the parkrun at Our Park on the Saturday morning. It is a lovely course along the sea front with great views and very friendly volunteers.

A large facility on the water at Orford, we chose as was a reasonable drive to Hobart airport the following day. The room was clean and comfortable and the restaurant provided for a great final seafood meal prior to departing Tassie with reasonable prices for both food and drinks. The staff were efficient and friendly and the location would be great a visit to Maria Island.
As we had visited Orford before, we were just looking for a place to chill which was fairly flat as I was recovering from a knee replacement. So it was perfect for that, as just outside our room there was a lovely little level walk along the river of about 1.5K.
Orford Prosser just felt like home to us. Simply great, it had everything we needed, it was super clean and the beds were comfy. For the price we paid, that was the best place we stayed at in Tassie. Close to Maria Island Ferry too. Highly recommend!
