Fantastic location! Across the road from d'Albora Marina. Bottle Shop next door. 3 Min Walking distance to Woolies & other shops. Great pool (heated to the perfect temperature). Room was very clean. Beds were comfy (A bit too soft for my liking though). Extra friendly & welcoming staff at reception. Cafe downstairs was fantastic, Coffee was first class, Breakfast was very good also, Can't fault this place.
Free Wi-Fi and a outdoor swimming pool are on offer at Port Stephens Motel. Set among tropical gardens, it is just 1 minute’s walk from the Nelson Bay waterfront.

So many things to do and see in the Nelson Bay area.
So many things to do and see in the Nelson Bay area. Beautiful beaches, many different tours to choose from so you can see the dolphins, feed the rays and sharks or go whale watching in the right season. Many places to eat out if you so choose. Salamander Bay shopping centre has a large variety of shops. Great place for anyone, especially families.

The main downside to Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay etc.. is that all parking is paid parking. if you are travelling by car and want a coffee, you must pay to park first.. If you want to go out for a meal, pay for parking.. literally everywhere.. worse than Sydney CBD.

We live in the mountains.
We live in the mountains.
Nelson Bay has beaches.. maybe not it itself, but nearby.
And while busy, for a country hic, manageable.
Lovely Marina,
main street with the usual tourist things, a hundred meters away. Half dozen wharf fresh seafood outlets.. breakwater, fishing.. (a lot easier just to go to one of the seafood outlets, but each to their own..)wonderful walks, especially around Shoal Bay..
Lots of beaches both on the bay for safe swimming for children, and ocean for the shark feeding crowd..
Truly, apart from Mission Beach in North Qld, one of the nicest places we have visited.
And relatively affordable..
Much nicer than The Enterance further south, or Forster Tuncurry to the north.
But that is just my opinion,

Great variety of eating establishments both at the marina and in the main shopping area. Fantastic array of shops to browse in, or buy something pleasantly different from the usual. Lovely to walk along the waterfront and some fabulous boat tours on offer.
My personal favourites - ferry trip to Tea Gardens and lunch on the Wangi Queen.

We enjoyed a stroll around the shops and coffee at the Marina, an excellent place to dine. There are lots of temptations in the shops there, with friendly staff.
There are a variety of short cruises to see dolphins and whales at the right season,
The tearooms at the Marine Rescue lookout offer beautiful views across the ocean, a lovely place to rest tired legs. Checkout all the places to hike.
Shoal bay, is a wonderful coastal place to stay for a few days, or to enjoy a quiet luncheon. The ocean there is a beautiful colour and there are paddle boards for hire.
There is a bus service from Fingal Bay, through to Newcastle Airport, and nearby Hamilton train station into Newcastle city.
For boaties there are ramps, and endless fishing opportunities.
On our way home we stopped off at the Koala Sanctuary, enjoyed morning tea, and a guided walk around the sanctuary, a delightful way to end a Nelson Bay experience.

We recently stayed at "Hide Away at Nelson Bay" and had a fantastic time. The house is well-equipped, spacious and clean, and only a short drive from the beach and Tomaree Mountain. The cozy beds made for a comfortable night's sleep and we felt right at home during our stay. The hosts were friendly and although we haven't had the opportunity to interact much, they were always available to provide us with any information we needed and the instruction for the house were very clear and easy. Great place!
Loved how beautifully decorated this property was, it was just like home. It had it all. Spacious, class, cleanliness, and really friendly owners. Nothing was a problem. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend the property to my friends or family heading to Nelson Bay. Loved it.
We like the location and the price, the property is set between Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay - both within easy walking distance. Room was comfortable with the necessities that we needed. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming.
Great location centred in the middle of shoal bay, Nelson bay. West league club a block away, driving distance to shops 5 minutes definitely would stay here again
