On the date I visited there was no one there, as in tourists. This is an area in which the locals find hard to suffer. It's a great place to visit but it's one of those places that have been impacted by outside interests. Ordinary folks like teachers or road workers can't afford to live here. Yet, when the tourists and 2nd or 3rd home owners come rolling in they expect the world on their plate.
At Bannisters they promote Rick Stein. Rick is an English fish n chippy guy made famous by his exposure on the telly. Nothing speaks worse of a region that can't promote it's local values, people & places over a washed up fried fish chef from England... pretentious is what that amounts to.

Great place with many activities to enjoy. Quirky boutique shops and delicious food options, including Italian, pizza, pie shop, fish and chips, burgers, seafood and the lolly shop. Whale watching is lovely in the winter months. Beautiful walking tracks and views.

The shopping has some little gems, but for a serious shopper Newcastle is a short drive away
Lots of calm beach’s for the not so confident in the surf or you are within a 15 minute drive to a surf beach.

To comercial .
To comercial . Local council likes to jam parking meters everywhere you go so they can milk money out you, this totally discourages stopping anywhere to visit local shops. The boat ramps even had metered parking , people would like to have an unlimited day out in their boat and not be concerned about how much it will cost. Disgusting greed.

What a darling place to visit with friends!
What a darling place to visit with friends! If you're looking for a quiet girls weekend/getaway there are multitudes of great restaurants and cafes, lots of homeware shopping and boutiques, and lots of massage and nail salons. So awesome, would go again in a heartbeat.
A good size room with easy walking to most food outlets and hotels.
Ten per cent discount at adjoining restaurant on production of room key, where the food was good.
Nelson Bay and surrounds are fantastic locations.
We would stay at the Seabreeze again.
Excellent location, close to West club and parkland. Walking distance to beautiful beaches. Close to Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay. All walking distance or short drive. Motel friendly staff and easy park, off street and some undercover.
Location was great, close to both Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay. The layout of the property is great with a large kitchen, dining and outdoor area. Beds and lounges were comfortable also.
Location was good, central to the town and marina . The view of Nelson Bay was spectacular from our penthouse suite. The apartment was clean and spacious.
