Nice to have a morning walk along the boardwalk and jetty. Room on garden side still protected from severe westerly winds that day. Quiet. Close to pub for counter meal.

The serenity, the views, the boating and fishing at your back door and fantastic meals at the local pub. No crowds I rate it in the top 3 places in Australia for a holiday and number one for quiet contemplative relaxation.
Take a camp stool, a fishing rod and a good book! Buy a couple of bottles of the local wines at the cellar door, grab some fish and chips and your good to go!

There is absolutely nothing negative to say about metung , it’s a beautiful little hamlet , quiet , peaceful and lots of bird life in the area ,
If u enjoy walking and just being around water it’s perfect , the only negative is that the after hours food choices are limited like a pizza place and a pub are ur choices , however , u can cook up a bbq or supply ur own food from a very high priced little general store , better to pre stock before y come into the town ,if planning on a few days there

Metung is a beautiful secluded village with stunning marina, charming shops, beautiful views, fabulous food and super friendly locals welcoming us to town at all our interactions.
We enjoyed total relaxation at the Metung Hot Springs, having been to the Peninsula Hot Springs, we were keen to visit the East Gippsland version - be aware this is a big venture under construction and does not have the full number of hot pools as does the Peninsula version; but don't let that hold you back ! While there are less pools, it is definitely worth your time for the relaxation and to support this fabulous development.
We loved our meals at Cafe Chez Joe, delicious Beef Rendang and our dinner at the Metung Hotel, freshest seafood and beautiful views. They were 'booked out', but we wandered in at 7.15 and we were provided a table straight away. The market was filled with talent, the bakery had some lovely fare and The Local has delicious pizza and a great array of the best salads.
We stayed in lovely accommodation in a natural bushy environment. The water front accommodation looks fabulous - maybe next time, however we were super happy with our accommodation at Gilly's Guesthouse and we will definitely return to Gilly's and to Metung!

Nice cosy place away from all the hustle and bustle. Beautiful scenery, lovely place to watch sunset. Highly recommend Metung Hot Springs, a piece of heaven that is so good for the soul. Lakes entrance is only 10mins drive. Everything you need from the Metung Village is only a hop skip and a jump.

A very relaxing and peaceful place.
A very relaxing and peaceful place. Great walk from accommodation along the boardwalk into town where we had a delicious meal at the Metung Hotel and breakfast at the local cafe. Food and drinks at both places were amazing.
The apartment was located overlooking the lake with direct access via a walkway to all of Metungs cafes and pub. Cannot fault the location or the apartment.
We had a slight hiccup with our apartment but the managers responded with efficiency and professionalism and sorted it out in under an hour, all the while smiling. Nothing was too much trouble.
we brought our own breakfast. loved feeding the birds. loved the surrounds and waking to the birds sounds.
ideal place to explore Gippsland. the hot springs in Metung were very enjoyable and relaxing.
