Norfolk Lodge - Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, hotel in Marion Bay

Located in Inneston in the South Australia region, Norfolk Lodge - Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park provides accommodation with free private parking.

Norfolk Lodge is part of the few surviving buildings of this historical village of Inneston. It is a quaint solid stone cottage. We loved how well preserved and looked after it was as it gave us the opportunity to imagine what life must have been there over 100 years ago. NPs have done a great job adding a full functioning kitchen and bathroom, which made the stay in the middle of winter still enjoyable, although the outside temperatures dropped to 5 degrees during the nights. We had the warm logfire going and entertained ourselves with the card and board games provided. We LOVED how clean and tidy it was and had fantastic sleeps in these beds with super comfortable mattresses. Thanks also to the super friendly and helpful staff, who were immediately helpful in providing us with a new globe when one had stopped working. And, of course, nature didn't let us down either. We watched tiny thornbills, silvereyes, and a Willie Wagtail from the kitchen window and were lucky to encounter two emus grazing past our property. We also saw multiple Tamar Wallabies and a Mallee Fowl. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

we absolutely loved this little getaway- felt like we we explorers the facilities of course is very basic- beds were comfortable and we even started the fire at night . the only thing was that we locked the keys in the hut and literally had to break in- the phone numbers for emergency did not work and that sucked!! we had to damage the hut as it was dusk and I did not want to sleep outside - a Mumma and her 2 boys.

Marion Bay was very pretty with good beaches. The Tavern was a great place to eat. Watching the sunset on Willyama Beach was very special. Hillocks Drive was a beautiful place to spend the day with so much to do, including snorkelling. Annie’s Nursery was like an ocean infinity pool complete with fish!

Marion Bay is a secluded spot great for fishing, beach walks and access to Innes National Park. Other facilities are limited but the there is a small general store, take away and a pub. Suggest to bring as much as you can so you don’t have to rely on getting food, etc. An easy drive from other sights on the Yorke Peninsula.

Marion Bay is such a beautiful part of South Australia with a magnificent and rugged nature. The jetty in Marion Bay, the general store with petrol station and the Tavern are the highlights. It was our second stay and we came back because we fell in love with the area the first time. Innes National Park is truly the highlight of the area with lots to explore. Kangaroos, different species of birds, lizards. The historic villiage of Inneston and its surrounding lake is a hidden gem.
