Kosciusko Tourist Park, hotel in Jindabyne

Situated just 17 km from Perisher Ski Resort, Kosciusko Tourist Park features accommodation in Jindabyne with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen.

We booked a cabin for 8 people. The dryer room was a non functional cupboard. The bathroom towel rail fell off at placement of a towel. Various lights didn’t work and the spa did not work either. On top of that, we traveled in 2 cars, and were charged extra for the second car. Is the presumption that you come in a bus?

Jindabyne is a beautiful and quiet country town.

Jindabyne is a beautiful and quiet country town. It is the best place for accessing a number of snowfields as both Perisher valley and Thredbo are just 30 minutes away. Township and the roads are designed to give the maximum views on the lake from almost everywhere. We were not successful at fishing but the time spent at the lake did not disappoint us at all.

There are so many activities to experience during a Jiindabyne summer. Hiking is boundless, mountain biking is breath-taking, there are multiple craft breweries to visit and so many swimming spots along the lakefront. Hiring kayaks and fishing equipment is also possible but we ran out of time!!

I recommend staying at Jindabyne for the summer and winter seasons. The drive to Thredbo is a quick drive. The roads are cleared in snow season, we didn’t need to use the chains. Parking is easy and there’s free busses to the ski lifts. No need to stay in Thredbo. Jindabyne is much cheaper and has restaurants and the supermarket. I would never stay in Thredbo again. The supermarket is tiny and expensive in Thredbo. We stayed on the lake in a cabin which was perfect. We go for mountain biking in the summer and snowboarding in winter.

Jindabyne is a nice and quiet place to have a short break during the summer. The lake is good for water activities, and being positioned at the foot of the mountains means day trips to Thredbo and Perisher/Charlotte Pass is an easy run. There are plenty of places still open to eat and a full supermarket for any other needs. There are also other activities going on in Jindabyne and the Snowy Mountains through the summer, so google to see what's on and when.

Jindabyne is like a poor cousin toQueenstown NZ.

Jindabyne is like a poor cousin toQueenstown NZ. Nothing much happens off-season, but it is picturesque and a great jumping off point to Kosciouszko National Park. There's a little coffee shop, Jindabyne F2, very good hot chocolate. But the brasserie at Banjo Patterson on the main drag was disappointing. And the carpark at Nugget's Crossing Shopping Centre is a nightmare.

It was a great place to stay although a warning when planning a trip for those on blood thinning medication, please factor in the altitude may have an effect on you!! It did for me with breathing and pressure on my body, although each person is unique and may be affected in different ways. You might not have any problems, just be aware of the possibility. Beautiful views, great walking track around the lake and lovely sights of Thredbo and Perisher not far away.

Location is central to everything in Jindabyne and a good base for snow activities, shopping, visitors centre, movies, dining etc. The foyer area with the fire is a great place to relax with a book and Joshua at reception was always friendly. Beds were comfortable and our loft room was nicely set out, if a little dated. The shower was lovely and warm, perfect after a day in the snow, and the central heating kept the room a comfortable temperature.

The room was cozy, everything was designed to be functional it was just great. It really beats any hotel I've ever stayed in, it feels recently renovated and fresh. I Highly recommend this place for the snow season. Located walking distance the snowy region visitor centre which has to a bus stop that runs Jindabyne to perisher and also Thredbo. There is also a few really great food places and bars around walking distance.

The Banjo Paterson Inn was excellent. The staff were very friendly & helpful nothing was a problem. The rooms were very well appointed, good size & very clean. The breakfast which was included was lovey. We also dined at the Clancy's Restaurant - the food, drinks/cocktails were excellent. Location of the Inn was great very close to all shopping centres in Jindabyne. Would definitely stay there again.
