Lees Hotel, hotel in Ingham

Guests at Lees Hotel enjoy a convenient central location and good old fashioned friendly service in an historic venue.

Central location. Roomy, clean and comfortable. The history of the hotel is interesting; it was the inspiration for the poem "The Pub Without Beer" by the late Dan Sheahan (you can find is grave in the cemetery), famously recorded by Slim Dusty as "The Pub With No Beer".

Vista Hinchinbrook, hotel in Ingham

Located in Cardwell, Vista Hinchinbrook provides accommodation with seating area. There is a private entrance at the aparthotel for the convenience of those who stay.

We stayed here for 1 night before the thorsborne trail hike on Hinchinbrook island. Having the option of transforming the sofa into 2 single beds in the kitchen area was perfect for us. The views were amazing from the main house - we watched the sunrise and sunset and it was great to see the Hinchinbrook island before we hiked it. The cabin is clean and fresh, having been recently renovated. Couldn’t have imaged nicer host couple - we got treated like a family :) having an option of take away breakfast was fantastic, and the freshly made coffees were just exactly what we needed to get us going at 6am :) thank you very much for your hospitality ! this is the best place to stop on the way from/ to Townsville and Cairns .

    Ingham was a pleasant town.

Ingham was a pleasant town. We travelled from there to see the amazing Walloman Falls. We had coffee at the famous Italian JK's Delicatessan and coffee shop. Also a meal at the historic Station Hotel and a drive to the Forrest Beach. The wetlands are interesting but there are resident crocodiles which is off putting..

The photos are deceiving, the standard room is incredibly small and the air-conditioning comes through the toilet, so imagine. The TV turns off every hour and the WiFi was woeful, unusable. The front door kept jamming so had to be slammed. Very dirty grubby, seedy little dungeon.

In the Tyto Wetland in Ingham you can see nearly as much birds species as in Kakadu. The cemetery in Ingham is a touristic spot. 1 hour drive inland from Ingham you have the Wallaman falls, the biggest in Australia (269m). A bit south you have the Jourama falls which is a beautiful spot with rock pools.

Ingham isn't really a holiday destination.

Ingham isn't really a holiday destination. We stayed there overnight to break our journey down the Bruce Highway. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and although the staff in the tourist information were very friendly and helpful, there was nowhere to go out of the rain.

Scenery. Enjoyed the drive to Lucinda and Halifax. Also down there enjoyed Dungeness Harbour. Went to Wallaman Falls and did the walk to the bottom of the falls. A hard walk but so glad we did it. Allow plenty of time and anyone going must take water.

I would suggest ringing the location direct to book rather than using 'booking.com' to save yourself some money while also ensuring the establishment get what they deserve I paid $135 through 'booking.com' (which I believe the motel recieves about $110) Someone walked in off the street and paid $120 (which the motel gets all)

We arrived late and the hotel manager was nice enough to stay later and help show us where to park our two trailers and four wheel drives. The next day we had to make a quick emergancy stop at the hospital for one of our children and the manager was kind enough to let my partner and children stay in the air con room a little longer out of the heat while I ducked out to the hospital. He was so lovely to talk to.

Lovely set of apartments centrally located in Ingham. Recently renovated and well designed whilst retaining some of the art deco charms of the original building. Our family of three had a lovely two night stay. Great staff who were on hand to help with any questions or issues. Would highly recommend as a base to check out what Ingham and surrounding area has to offer!

Beds super comfortable as were the pillows. Great location for a walk around town. Easy to find and check in. Room good size. Had what we needed to be comfortable. Liked the old hotel feel and the walk up the stairs added to the atmosphere.

We were able to spend more time in Ingham and use the unit as our base. The park had comprehensive facilities.
