We had an incredible time at the Mia Mia house. Derek is an exceptional host who puts in the extra mile to ensure you have a fantastic stay. Everything was well thought out and prepared for our arrival and Derek provides excellent recommendations and fantastic coffee. We also appreciated the fact that our dog was more than welcome to stay and we all felt very comfortable. We loved our stay and highly recommend to anyone.

Literally on the vineyard with amazing sunrise and heaps of different native birds passing through, was a dream! The winery/distillery does the most amazing gins and we got to try them all before checking in. Lovely hosts and we felt very secluded despite being on the other side of the fence to the building. Very good value for money!

Fabulous farmhouse on a gorgeous property. Sweeping views and paddocks filled with dormer sheep. So much fun to feed the alpacas and the goat in the home paddock. Although the weather was cold, the wood fire kept us toasty. It was an easy run into Bendigo when we needed, although we were very happy to stay stay at home and enjoy the facilities. Generous breakfast provided, with fresh eggs from the hens in the coop. The accommodation was perfect for our family. The beds were comfy and warm. We made full use of the kitchen facilities and there was everything we could’ve needed in the well stocked cupboards.

Heathcote is a lovely small country town near Bendigo and Lake Eppalock, it has wide streets and plenty of shade trees. Situated in one of Victoria's popular wine regions and very famous for its Shiraz Wine.
There are plenty of attractions in and out of town including a French Restaurant, Brewery and Gin Distillery plus a famous Bakery.

I went to Heathcote for lunch booking at Chauncy.
I went to Heathcote for lunch booking at Chauncy. Whilst the restaurant was good, rest of the town does not reflect same, similar or close to or decent concept of gastronomy.
Felt the town should capitalise on the fame of the restaurant and upgrade its quality of food on offer.
Saying that, I did not have the chance to go to the wineries.

Heathcote is a great little base to stay if you're visiting the wineries. Everything seems to be just a quick drive away. You will need to study the township a bit to find out where the restaurants and cafes are located but once found the quality is great. Its all a flat walk so easy for most people.
We recommend Sanguine winery, Palling Bros Brewery, Flock of Geese Cafe (and food stuffs) and The World Famous in Australia, Segafredo Bakery.

Super clean and very affordable.
Super clean and very affordable. Located just off the main road meant pubs and cafes were close enough to walk to but not so close as to be disrupted by noise.
Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was very modern, clean and spacious. Plenty of hot water and fluffy towels supplied.
Keep in mind that this is a small town so not everything is open beginning of the week. Located very close to a grocery store so was very easy to self cater. Lovely outdoor area to prepare a picnic
Have already recommended to many people, will 100% be back for another visit.

we went to the Brewery for dinner, placed our order and paid for it but it never arrived. After one hour and fifteen minutes we asked but they were unable to say how long it would be. We left without even an apology. Had dinner in the café over the road. Otherwise everyone was very helpful and polite. The information bureau very informative.
