There was a misunderstanding between the booking and facilities and they more than accommodated what we needed. The food was delicious and the staff were amazing. 100% recommend.

I couldn't get a dinner meal at 5:30pm anywhere in the town-all closed despite Google saying the fish and chip shop was open until 8:30! I had to go to both roadhouses just outside of town, but at the first one, I waited for 30 minutes for my order despite their not being very busy and eventually I requested a refund which I received and went to the next roadhouse which looked a lot nicer and cleaner inside and stood at the ordering point, alone, for at least 10 minutes without any acknowledgement by staff, (2), who were preparing food orders, but not overly busy and so I gave up and walked out and went hungry for the night!

Hay, has some great, unknown history there.
Hay, has some great, unknown history there. The shearers museum and the Duneroo war refugee camp museum, Murrumbidgee river, painted silos are all great to visit. The hay serviceman's club offers good food and a nice, laid back atmosphere.

Perfect for an overnight stay if you are traveling from Sydney to Adelaide or vice versa - it's pretty much half-way. People are friendly and there are pubs and clubs for dining. If you prefer to prepare your own food, there are supermarkets in this lovely town.

Pretty disappointed with the rooms.
Pretty disappointed with the rooms. We checked in later than normal and there were no keys or instructions on how to get the keys. When we finally got it from the safe, it took us 5 mins fumbling trying to open the door! Both rooms were the same! The taps in the shower and sink were loose and moving and we had to hold it down in order to operate it. One of the rooms bathroom door wouldn’t fully shut as the slide door was stuck. TVs in the rooms weren’t working either? The hot water urn wasn’t turned on for coffee/tea in the morning making us guess and turn it on ourselves. Milk ran out and no replacement.

Great place to stay for a small remote town.
Great place to stay for a small remote town. Plenty of dining options. We enjoyed visith the Shearing, WWII POW and Old Gaol museums and a short drive up the highway to the sunset viewing area over the vast plains.

Hay is a great town with loads of history and town-proud residents. It's worth stopping in and spending a bit of time is you can afford to. Make sure you drop into the Hay RSL Services Club for a drink or a meal. The club is very welcoming.
Very comfortable, great amenities, car parking at the door, surprisingly quiet and great access to the A20. Air conditioning worked well which was helpful as it was extremely hot on the day we were there. The hotel thoughtfully provides a car washing bay and also multiple buckets and window cleaning equipment for guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Clean, well appointed, modern furnishings, great shower, excellent pool, friendly and engaging staff. Complimentary brushes for cleaning windscreens after the trek over the Hay Plains
