We had stayed here before under different management and the overall experience was okay. This time around, under new management, there were obvious improvements and the overall experience was very good. The manager was helpful and took an interest in our travels and views.

I wanted to visit Hamilton for it's history/buildings.

I wanted to visit Hamilton for it's history/buildings. I love travelling regional Victoria, but... Hamilton turned out to be a very 'gray' place. In comparison to other regional towns I've been too, there is not much to do or see. Also, there are not that many nice places to eat... let alone to shop. Moreover, locals are not welcoming (as far as we experienced). However, Ansett museum is worth a visit. Lakes and waterfalls are beautiful to see and spend time around. If you do decide to travel pick late spring/early autumn to do so

The Botanical gardens is a treat especially with its link to the Mlebourne Botanical Gardens and its root stock from Riddells Creek north of Melbourne. Hamilton is a lovely place to visit not too far from the coast (Portland/Warrnambool) and the Grampians. Don't forget to visit the Lemon Myrtle Cafe for some great home cooking as everything is prepared on site even the sausage rolls. Lots of parking in the main street and behind the shops. A trip to the Lake is well worth the visit. At the right time Platypus have been spotted at the creek.

Motel was terrible We did not stay there. Didn't matter we paid...put it down to experience. Booking.com should remove it from their listing. We have relied on places listed there but Caledonian was a complete and utter disappointment

We only needed a place to lay our heads for the night to break a long trip. I have spent a lot of time visiting Hamilton over the years. It is an attractive rural centre with all the needed facilities.

After arriving at 5PM on a Sunday evening, I found i had forgoten my belt. With not much confidence I headed out to local shops to find a belt, it felt like a ghost town, no body was walking on the street and evrry card that drove past looked at me "must be a lost tourist", anyway didnt find a belt and my pants diddnt fall down the next day. nice country town!!

The great old gum trees in the Hamilton district are worth travelling there for alone. Add the back drop of the Grampians and the volcanic features a most interesting and attractive place,, after all major Mitchell did it Australia Felix.

The room was very clean and well appointed. The kitchen was especially well appointed with a kettle, Nespresso, microwave, fridge and lots of useful things in the fridge, instead of so many hotels which just have alcohol.

This motel is close to the centre of the town and in a quiet street. The hotel next door had live music but we did not hear a note of it.
