Taking the train from southern cross was simple and very low cost. Once in Echuca it was easy to walk around and there are loads of great food. The Japanese restaurant in particular was excellent (Niko Niko), highly recommend it.
The Hotel have us a list of clubs who provide free pick up and drop offs and we went to Rich River and tried the Golf Simulator, you do need to book this in busy periods. We also took a river cruise which was very informative and provided a nice breeze.
Lots to see and do easy to walk from one end of town to the other.

We loved our stay with Sharon.
We loved our stay with Sharon. The appartments are wonderful. Private, quiet and quality marble flooring etc. a kitchen and lounge/dining made it perfect. We really appreciated the size of the bathroom and having a seperate bedroom. The location is great near the old wharf. Walking distance. I can Highly recommend Acacia terraces. Excellent value for money.

We visited Echuca on a sunny 1st of January 2025, with a high of 12°C. Sunscreen and SunSmart hats are a must, especially during the midday heat. We chose to stay indoors during the hottest part of the day and ventured out later for a peaceful walk by the river.
For those not into beer or drinks, options for activities may feel limited. Cafes were very busy, and some were overpriced. However, we discovered a gem in Essen, a clean and stylish cafe with excellent coffee and friendly service.
Paddle steamers are a must-try, especially in the early morning before it gets too hot. Booking online is convenient, and discounts for students, seniors, and concession cardholders make the experience more affordable.
The kind and friendly customer service we encountered, even at Coles, added to the charm of the town.
Overall, Echuca is best suited for a short stay and may be more enjoyable in cooler weather. It’s definitely worth a visit for its river charm and warm hospitality.

Echuca is a beautiful town by the Murray River.
Echuca is a beautiful town by the Murray River. I would certainly recommend a stay of several days. There is plenty to do including the historical port, restaurants, shops, antiques, river cruises and water sports on the mighty Murray river. There is also the painted silo trail that is in the vicinity as well as wineries, a beer museum and plenty of pubs in town.

Very comfortable accommodation (character building) and well presented. Comfortable beds, linen & pillows.
Excellent communication from Carmen, who was very helpful and went out of her way to assist us.
Good location with a great hotel across the road (1895 The Royal) - fun vibe, great food, wine, and staff.
This was a luxurious and spacious Villa type apartment with great cooking facilities, excellent heating and a fantastic spa. It was so central and close to everything in Echuca.
I would rdcomend this accommodation to anybody and will stay here again!
Upon checking in we realised how small and stale the room was that we booked. Fortunately the park was not busy and we were able to upgrade our accommodation to a two bedroom settlers cottage.
