close to Cradle mountain national park, a lot of heating appliances to keep the unit toasty (it was snowing), quite expensive.
Experience luxury in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.

We loved the location, ranger station where the bus stops is just a few mins of walk away. Enchanted Walk is within the grounds of the lodge. We booked a balcony room which had an amazing view of the lake. Room was very cozy and clean. The on site tavern/bistro meal offerings were good, a fancier restaurant is also available for when celebrating something special. Waldheim Alpine spa was also in the lodge which is a bonus. All the staff we have dealt with have been very helpful and friendly. Also, the free buffet breakfast is really great as we did not have to think where to get a meal early morning given that the area is very remote. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The natural setting of a cabin in the woods was a rare experience for us. We liked it very much. The cabin was clean, warm and comfortable. It was also well equipped and we could cook our own meals easily.
This award-winning boutique wilderness retreat features an on-site restaurant and is located among peaceful rainforest surroundings.

The Lemonthyme Wilderness Retreat is literally off the grid, 8 km on a dirt road from the highway. They generate their own power with a water turbine. It's a great experience being in the temperate rain forest. The restaurant was very nice both for breakfast cooked to order and dinner. The porch was raised into the tree level giving a great view of the forest. A kookaburra visited us each morning.

The Jacuzzi is great . The kitchen is good.
The reclining chair is great - so comfortable n relaxing.
We are a family of 5. We only had 2 nights at Cradle Mountain at the end of September. The Marion’s Lookout walk was recommended to us from the visitors centre. It was a beautiful walk and once we reached Marion’s Lookout, the views were amazing. Still snow on the trail and at the lookout. No grumbling from the kids on the hike either which is always a bonus.

Some of the most breathtaking views I've come across.
Some of the most breathtaking views I've come across. Amazing hikes surrounded by incredible scenery, nature, and wildlife. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys nature and picturesque views. Different activities to suit everyone, like different length hikes for people of all abilities, wildlife experiences, activities for families, spa and relaxation opportunities, and great food experiences. Pay attention to all warning signs and recommendations, as conditions can change very quickly. The park rangers and staff are very knowledgeable, if they close roads or tracks, it won't be without good reason.

One of the most scenic places we have ever seen. We went back into the park late at night to stargaze. We had never seen the Milky Way look like that. Utterly beguiling, a true “must do”. Dove Lake is just a perfect place to visit. We will definitely be returning.

An absolutely stunning national park, with lakes and mountains and lots of fresh air!
There is only one road into the park, and once you have passed the visitor centre and various accommodation options, CM can only be accessed via the Park Service's shuttle buses. This has stopped the nightmare of people driving on roads they are not capable of handling, and makes your trip up to Dove Lake far more pleasant,
Check the park service's website for ticket options and prices, and also for the range of marked walking trails to suit all capabilities.
Check out the photos, and make sure you visit at least once!

If you love walking, hiking or mountains in general Cradle Mountain is a blessing. Walks and circuits for every person, from the easy to the challenging one, from 20 minutes to 10 hours depending on your readiness, fitness, and training. Clean and well-maintained with spectacular views from the top, weather permitting :-). Keep in mind that you are in a mountain environment and the weather can change quickly and completely in a very short time. Good phone coverage on quite the whole area, and if you are into astrophotography its a Bortle 1 sky, cannot get better then that.

We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain.
We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain. Our first stop was the Devils @ Cradle sanctuary where we had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian Devil and the Quolls at the sanctuary. We were able to see 5 Devils being fed. Though they looked cute, they had very sharp teeth and managed to tear through the meat and bones quickly. We then went on a bus trip to Dove Lake and were able to take some great photos. Would love to visit here again.

Beautiful cabin set in the heart of Cradle Mountain, close to the visitor centre but far enough away from other cabins for privacy. Cabin equipped for basic cooking, and option to borrow DVDs for cosy evenings in.
Spa bath provided a good view of the wilderness, towels were new and v soft and bed was v comfy. Overall a great stay!
We had an upgrade into the two bedroom deluxe cabins which are new. The underfloor heating was a lovely addition on the cold mornings. The cabin is fantastic and had all we needed, very comfortable. Easy to walk to the bus for Cradle Mountain and staff were super friendly and helpful.
The hotel is just in the Conservation area of Cradle Mountain. Stunning scenery, fresh air, wildlife and hiking trails - everything in one place. Definitely worths staying. Breakfast was included and it was delicious and there were a great variety of food, fresh fruit, etc.
Comfortable, roomy cabins opposite the National Park visitor centre. perfect spot to base yourself for a visit to Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain. Plenty of firewood provided for the fireplace.
We loved EVERYTHING about Cradle Mountain Hotel. Between the awesome staff and the most comfortable bed, we were so happy to have had the opportunity to spend some of our honeymoon here!
