Good distance from town and nice pool. Friendly service at reception. Queen size bed in the main bedroom was probably the most comfortable bed I slept on all holidays.

Carnarvon is the place to be in the winter months when further south is cold and miserable, if you have your own vehicle it's only a small town so easy to find what you need, Airport is in town for those who travel by plane.

On my trip I had planned to stay at carnarvon but was advised not to and just to drive through. So I dud, but I liked it so much I decided to ignore the advice and stayed for two nights on my return journey.
You must visit the NASA space centre for a few hours. That place is amazing.
The walks over to the islands across the bridge a great day starter and a visit to the old historical area and museum near the one mile jetty are also great.
Drive through the farming area along the Gascoyne and check out giant Humpty and the mural on the house.

There are a number of good places to visit that cover history - Gwoonwardu Mia, Carnarvon Space & Technology Museum and the Heritage Precinct.
Be aware that quite a few things are not open on Sundays including the visitors centre.
Found the Fruit Loop a bit of a disappointment - maybe because it was Sunday?
The private cactus garden on the Fruit Loop is well worth the donation to be able to walk through and photograph.
Currently the town is a little nervous due to crime - the takeaway we went to locked up after we left as they were on their own that day and didn't feel safe - that was around 7pm.

Carnarvon was nice to walk along the waterfront and we ate at the bakery which was fresh and had a great range.
We stopped in at Quobba blow holes and it was the perfect swell so the were exceptional, had a bonus of whales playing right at the edge.

If you are travelling for a holiday one full day is enough.
If you are travelling for a holiday one full day is enough. There are a few places to eat all close to the town centre. Fresh seafood was available but you had to have somewhere to cook it yourself and I think it was only open weekdays. The mile long jetty is still not repaired so you cannot walk it, you get a view through a hole in the wall that stops you accessing the jetty. There is a Wollies supermarket and shops to get most things you need when travelling.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Carnarvon
We only stayed 1 night, though we have stayed at the Carnarvon Central Apartments before. The apartments are quite roomy compared to a hotel and the bedrooms are a really good size, with beds that are very comfortable. Bathrooms are a little on the small side though they are kept very clean.
We have more than 70 million property reviews, and they're all from real, verified guests.
