The history of Beechworth and the available tours (quite cheap) were informative and the guides were knowledgeable.
Bridge Road Brewers (beer brewery) and Bilsons (cordials, gins, whiskeys and beers) were great to visit and tastings were free at Bilsons and suitable for the whole family (cordials are great for the kids).
The bike trail goes around the lake and there are interesting areas to stop.

A pretty, well preserved Victorian Colonial town with lots of history, particularly of Ned Kelly and his gang, as well as plenty of great 19th century buildings to look at.
The local restaurants we ate at were good and quite reasonably priced.
The local tourist information office is very helpful and open 7 days a week. We booked two local historical tours through the office which were quite informative.
Well worth a visit of at least 2-3 days.

Beechworth, is beautiful. Its a lovely and lively county town, with almost everything you need. everything of interest is on good walking or bike trails. the town has lots of points of interest and some exceptional and inspirational stories of history and heritage. We loved it!

A lovely affordable, comfortable room with hosts who were extremely accommodating. All requests were met with a "can do" and pleasant response. It felt calm and relaxing being there. The room was quiet and so cosy. We were a little bit out of town but the inclusion of a free breakfast with a choice of options meant you didn't have to rush off to find breakfast. We would highly highly recommend a stay at Beechworth on Bridge it's just a lovely place to relax. The room had everything we needed for a comfy stay and we were there for three nights. Do it. Go. Treat yourself. :)

The visitor information centre people very helpful, even though I had done research they were able to give me local knowledge, everyone at wineries, shops cafes very service orientated. Local wineries were great as was the honey

A great little town with so much to see in the town plus in...
A great little town with so much to see in the town plus in nearby areas. The bakery, Gold Museum and gaol plus so much more, 2-3 days could easily be spent here. Being autumn time, the tree colours were magnificent.
Lake Sambell is the perfect peaceful spot to stay and explore Beechworth and the Indigo region. The site was clean, organised, offered great amenity, and had a beautiful outlook over the lake with a great walking track looping around it. Service was sensational. And it will be a great HQ for the annual trail running event Beechworth Beer Run every May. We'll be back to take part having explored the Indigo MTB on which the event will run for one day a year! Awesome.
The location was very convenient to explore Beechworth and surrounds. The room, while sparse and very tired was spacious and the king size beds were large and comfortable. Even though the rooms and hotel itself is very tired and starting to get a little bit dilapidated, the room itself was very clean.
This is a very quirky hotel, think The Shining. We loved the room and decor and the whole area inside and out feels like you are in an episode of American Horror. I highly recommend this place for something different with the added comfort of an amazing spa bath.
The house was cosy and clean. It is also located close to town and the scenic Beechworth Gorge circuit.
We particularly enjoyed using the outdoor dining area and fireplace.
