    Uluru exceeded expectations once again.

Uluru exceeded expectations once again. Great walks, quiet place of reflection, beautiful sunsets and sunrises. You could walk around the base, ride a hire bike or take a Segway tour. Free cultural walk with a local guide at the Rock was around 1.5km and was informative, friendly and easy for all ages. Saw rock art, sacred sites, waterholes, desert vegetation and bush tucker. Warm to hot in November but easily able to participate in all walks in the morning before it gets too hot.

Book both the sunset and sunrise tours, both equally beautiful and impressive. I opted for the outdoor BBQ and it was very enjoyable with plenty of meat and salad and drinks provided. Breakfast buffet at the lodge was overpriced and you’re better of going over the road to Kulata academy cafe with it’s great and tasty choice with reasonable prices. Had a beautiful Pad Thai and dumplings from Ayers wok. Buy your art from the locals either on your tour on the town square in the evenings, the art galleries are overpriced and often double the money!!

Amazing--could walk to the Lookout for sunrise and sunset from our hotel. But a sunrise tour gets you up early and very close to Uluru to watch all the magnificent colour changes of the rock and sky! You can go on many walks--but probably loved the Mala walk the most. The Cultural centre is definitely worth visiting--and an icecream!

Loved seeing Uluru and KataTjuta in different lights- sunrise, sunset, middle of the day. Loved hearing stories of Aṉangu . Enjoyed Field of Light dinner and walking through the impressive installation . We bought some beautiful paintings which will be a lovely reminder of our visit . Sails in the Desert hotel had friendly, helpful staff in a beautiful , well zoned hotel complex . Easy pick up and drop off to tours and airport.

    Palya!!

Palya!! Outback Lodge Ayers Rock Resort is in a town called Yallara amongst the Anangu people. Close to Shell Petrol station ($2.98/Ltr 91 Unleaded), Few minutes drive from IGA Shop in the town centre. I recommend booking for Field of Lights, Wintjiri Wiru drone show (weather permitted) and Helicopter scenic flight around Uluru and Kata Tjuta ($315 per person for 25 min flight). Kata Tjuta is a 45 to 50min drive and has various hiking routes. Recommend some hikes while your there Valley of the Winds which is 7km hike from carpark. Resort has a wonderful viewing of Ayers rock close to Outback lodge perfect for Sunrise and Sunset. Camel Farm is near by outback Lodge, it also has a free museum for you to visit. Recommend booking a sunrise or sunset camel ride. Swimming pool is clean at the resort, freezing in the month of May. There is a communal kitchen with Fridge and Microwave. There is a Bar and BBQ which you can buy your meat and cook yourself. Steaks from $45 with unlimited Salad bar. Live music in evening. Has a Pizza shop across the Bar which also sells chicken nuggets n chips and Fish n Chips. Overall it is a good place for Famiies and Couples .

    Truly spiritual and overwhelming experience.

Truly spiritual and overwhelming experience. It's a pity most Aussies have not visited this place. Best to drive yourself so you can take your time and make your own schedule. Every viewing point is set up well and signposted for easy access. You can easily spend 2 days driving around the rock, witnessing sunrise and sunset with their own unique vistas. Evening dinner with lights event although overpriced was a beautiful experience due to the stars and the astronomer who showed the constellations. Much betwer than the bunch of solar usb powered bulbs on a springy stalk. Tip- a fly net on your face is dorky but a must!

The shared 4-bed rooms are decent and the shared toilets and showers are cleaned daily. Sheets and a towel are provided. The staff were helpful but seemed a bit overwhelmed by the amount of guests. There's wifi but it doesn't reach parts of the hotel. The pool area is nice and the guest kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, kettles, microwave, etc.

The amenities and Location of the Hotel were first class. Our stay was over the Easter long weekend and even though the resort was at capacity we were able to find places to eat and things to do. Even though COVID staff shortages were apparent, it did not detract from our experience.

Nice hotel with a nice pool but it was a little too cold for my liking. I think they must chill it as it was high 30's but the pool was very cold. Restaurant and staff were all very nice.
