Whenever I mentioned ‘Apollo Bay’ everyone said to stay at this hostel because it’s ‘Amazing’. Normally ‘hostel’ and ‘Amazing’ don’t go together but this was a really wonderful treat. The guys on check in and check out were beautiful and super helpful. There was a group booking who stayed in the rooms surrounding mine but I didn’t hear anything. I was surprised there were only 2 showers and 2 toilets for 14 (or so) rooms downstairs but there was never a queue or delayed using the facilities. I didn’t use the kitchen but had a look and it was super clean, common areas also! Parking was great because if you couldn’t get on the site, they had on road parking. I just loved it here, for a lone female traveler it’s a 10/10.

Walking down the street and around the shops was interesting. We had a meal at Chris' restaurant in Skenes Creek one night and other at the Apollo Bay Seafood cafe. The former quite upmarket, but both highly recommendable
Walking around this small township is easy.

Apollo Bay is beautiful for scenery at the nearby lookout.
Apollo Bay is beautiful for scenery at the nearby lookout. Driving up the winding Tuxion road which provides an even more interesting view. Marengo Beach is also a short drive & again a lovely spot to sit in parking area, walk along the sand, even picnic on the sand. The Otway National Park is so close & has walking tracks & the amazing enormous trees. This is a superb area to visit & stay.

Many places to eat at, and all the food we had was good. It was a bit expensive, as any touristy beach-side town is. Careful if/when you're driving, several times tourists wandered onto the road without looking.
We chose Apollo Bay because of its proximity to the Otways. There were many beautiful walks. We were only there for two days so just chose a few short walks, but they were stunning. I recommend Maits Rest to see enormous trees and tranquil rainforest.

Great scenic get away when traveling the ocean road.
Great scenic get away when traveling the ocean road. It’s not overcrowded and there is so much nature to enjoy with it’s proximity to Great Otway national park & surrounding areas like wildlife wonders, Skeen’s creek, Wongarra, wye River, Kennet River & the cute town of Lorne. Also, the 5 STAR VIEWS & gorgeous beaches!

Apollo Bay is a charming seaside township with stunning backdrop of lush green hillside.
The Apollo Bay Hotel was fun to sit outside overlooking the street, sipping on a wine and eating good food whilst people watching.

This foreshore area is fantastic…. glorious grass areas, large trees, sculpture, toilets/change rooms, BBQ, skate park, playground AND close access to the beach. There is a surprisingly wide variety of eateries to cater for numerous tastes and budgets. The walk along the main shopping precinct includes specialty businesses and shops, along with the necessary “ everyday” varieties. Truly: something for everyone.

Situated in a prime location in Skenes Creek/Apollo Bay. Expansive views of the ocean and nestled into the hillside. Quiet.
Comfortable, modest-sized rooms with everything you’d expect in way of motel facilities. A very comfortable bed. The sound of the ocean to lull you to sleep and gently wake you in the morning. We stayed in a sea view room and had incredible views of the sunrise over the ocean.
The proprietor, Paul, was very friendly and helpful. An all round positive experience and I would happily stay here again.
very clean and with such an awesome view, awesome house to accomodate a winter stay as well considering the weather, very very nice stay, had access to some fresh lemons from the lemon tree in the backyard as well which was nice, only a 3 minute drive to apollo bay town and beach
The location is on the beach front and only 100 metres to cafes shops hotels. We love that you can walk everywhere . The rooms have recently been painted, the beds are comfy and you have free parking at your door
The hotel was very close to the main area of Apollo Bay. The main room is very clean and spacious. We honestly couldn't fault the whole space. It's cheap but you get so much more than what you pay for.
