it's comfortable and top was facing ocean. sunrise and sunset can be experienced with the tides of the ocean. right next to all shops. smart TVs were a good addition. bathrooms were modern though the overall building is old. painting frames in rooms and in the galleries can be arranged in a better way. the lady at reception was great.

Apollo Bay is a small, tidy and atmospheric village right on the sea. Shops and eateries are good. We were there in the first weekend of spring so almost no-one was around. The drive to the Twelve Apostles along the rural section of the Great Ocean Road is one of the gems of this area and only about 90-100 minutes away. The Apostles are of course spectacular - make sure to bring warm clothing and something to protect from the incredibly strong winds.
The photo is taken from the road leaving Apollo Bay to the west with the town in the background.

Apollo Bay has 2 Hotels, 1 is also a Brewery if you like tasting different beers you can get a tasting palette, we did that it was great, Also there is a Gin distillery which we also enjoyed, tastings, Then headed out to a place called Paradise, which is up the Barram River valley, it is a place cleared next to the river surrounded by fern cover, just magic spot. We also went up Marriners Lookout where you can see right accross Apollo Bay, the locals told us that some days you get up there and you can see wales swimming past, also a shipwreck about 2 km out to sea.

Its a lovely one or two day stay place (during the winter), waterfront shopping strip, a couple great pubs, a few resturants, lots of cafe style places, many are great for lunch or dinner. Beach access is from the main strip, seems like pleanty of good parking (untimed). Take the time to enjoy a Gin Flight and rustic pizza at the Apollo Bay Distilery. If your on your motorbike to enjoy the GOR, this is a great stop for breakfast of lunch dependant on your starting location or direction to Apollo Bay. If your on the bike, Lavers Hill to Apollo Bay is a fantastic long sweeping bend ride, if your from the Geelong direction, Aireys Inlet to Apollo Bay is were it really begins, tight, still a lot of fun at the 80kph limit, just mind the bumps in the road.

Apollo Bay in the middle of Autumn is quite sleepy.
Apollo Bay in the middle of Autumn is quite sleepy. No need to book at restaurants :) and plenty of picnic spaces. The coffee shops are open and so is the distillery, which makes excellent Gin and has Happy Hour from 16:30 to 17:30.

I loved the hidden beach behind the town.
I loved the hidden beach behind the town. Its a drive away from the 12 apostles, waterfalls etc, but its still a great place to stay and look around for a bit. It was super calm and quiet but there were also streets full of people and cafees.

The beach walk is excellent and you can watch, or join in with, the surfers. There is also a very nice golf course near the marina.
If you want yo bbq there are plenty of places to just set up and go with the bbq’s ready to go.
The shops are good and the restaurants are very nice.
The town is also home to the Southern most pub in Sustralia, where you can get a very nice meal.
Apartment was clean and spacious with a lot of room for a family of 4. Free parking available. Location only a short distance from town. Instructions to check in and out of apartment was timely and easy to follow. One of the cheaper options in the Apollo Bay area.
The hotel was very close to the main area of Apollo Bay. The main room is very clean and spacious. We honestly couldn't fault the whole space. It's cheap but you get so much more than what you pay for.
